Hi,
One thing that has been recently bugging me about Guild Wars is the naming system for PvE characters. When you create your character and name them there is no system for possibly changing your characters name. I have had PvE character's with the same name for over a year's time and it gets old and boring always seeing the same name. I hate, however, that in order to change my PvE character's name I basically have to either create a new character or delete my current one and create another. I would like to propose a change to the naming system for PvE characters. Perhaps Anet could create something like a "name trainer" where a player may change their PvE character's name for a small fee. The reason I am suggesting this is because many of my original character's have customized weapons and armor that I have spent a lot of time and money into acquiring. It would be refreshing to change my characters names, however, it is unforunate that I do not have that option and would have to create a new character in order to do something. I would like to hear from others what they think of this idea and from Anet as well. Thanks.

While I think that changing a character's name could be refresing after a year or so, it kind of takes away from the uniqueness of that character. If names could be changed as easily as changing the second profession, it would be like creating a whole new character in the middle (or the end) of the game, which would destroy part of the immersion into the game.
Most players get so attached to their characters during gameplay that it would seem criminal to make them into someone else. I know I'd feel horrible if I changed my character's name, since she just wouldn't be the same anymore. I know that not everyone feels this way, but probably the majority are quite happy with whatever name they picked originally.

1. I believe it's not possible with the way guildwars is coded.
2. An RP characters name is just that, their name. Most RL people don't change their names every day, and I think it would take away from the RP feel of the game. Admittedly I'd love to be able to change my warriors last name, but it's really not that big a deal.

Open to lots of abuse. Someone scams for a few days with one name then switches and goes at it again.

Check Gailes chatlogs, she says they will never introduce this.

i actually thinks this is a great idea. i personally ahve a character that i havent personally named, but i put all the work into. i think one change of a name woudlnt harm anyone but it might actually benifit some person. i say one change for every charc.

Yes, i have deleted many char because of their names, most of them were under lvl 10 so no biggies.
However, this could be easily abused, if you pick a name live with it.
