If you don't care about Masters reward then as soon as the first gate falls just run up near the keep and camp the stairs killing everything that comes. It's very easy that way.

When I did masters, I put two groups east, one center, and took the west. Immediately pushed forward, and was standing at the far west spawn by the time the generals arrived. Since I was standing on top of him, I killed him immediately, then rushed the second portal, clearing that too.

After that, there are no more spawns that attack the west, so I moved east to the towers (where two groups of the npcs were just finishing dying) and just forced my way to the spawns and wiped them out.

My guildie and me (tank and ranger) have beaten this mission with heroes and got masters in 5-7 min using this tactics.

When i did it with my dervish we just steamrolled everything methodically from one side to the other. We sent two groups to one side (can't remember which), the other group to the middle then we took the other side. We had 2 dervishes, then all heroes/henchies. The biggest help was having a MM and a couple of nukers. Once the MM got up and running it was game over for the bad guys. We killed the first side very quickly leaving the AI groups to hold off as long as possible. Once we'd dealt with our side we just steamrolled across the map. They never stood a chance.

I had been in a few groups previously to this though where everything went tits-up so don't be too put off if you fail a few times. It takes a few goes to get the co-ordination right sometimes with some players.

I just did this mission: first try was with (what should have been) a strong PuG. We failed.

Got rather impatient trying to get into another PuG, so tried it with heroes and henches. As I see it, my mistake (resulting in losing Masters) was to not adequately defend one of the gates (it fell). I think we left a couple too many of those cursed Margonites alive too long.

We got Expert's easily. I'll go back later and pick up Masters. All I have to do now is figure out a strategy for the Grand Court mission......

For each general you kill, you will reduce the size of the battle field. If you instead kill in the middle first, the battle field will still be wide spread. And yeah, focusing on 1 side yourself is best. And 2 in the other direction. The best advice I can give to anyone.

I managed masters with my Elonian Ranger, and heroes and henchies. The heroes were:

Master of Whispers - SS configuration
Acolyte Sousuke - Fire & Earth
Olias - MM

Henchies: Khim, Mhenlo, Devona, Geraz

I put the extra forces to guard the West and East, and helped the Vabbian garrison hold the center. What I did was to make sure the Kournan groups didn't "capture" the strongpoints, and took the generals on the side out first, then the ones in the center, timing it between spawned groups of Kournans.

Got Master's on it yesterday with my Tyrian ranger and heroes/henches. Setup was as follows:

Master of whispers - MM with Icy Veins
Zhed - Searing Flames set up
Dunkoro - Straight Heal set up
Henches - Healer, Motivation, Earth & Warrior

Sent ALL the whispers to the east where the ele general spawns. Killed everything coming my way and helped master build up his minion army. As soon as the generals appeared, rushed and killed the west general. Got back to the center by the time bombard started going down. Killed the groups. After the whispers died, flagged all the heroes to hold the east while I went off with the henches to kill the middle generals making sure to rush back if any of my heroes died (monk died a couple of times).

After the center generals died, it was a straight job to push through to the east general and kill him.

will need to try some of the strategies listed, but not much differnt than what we have tried to do already....think I may change to fire build to get past this one.

Trick for getting Masters with Herohench:

1)2 MMs +1 Healer Hero, rest hencies

2)place each of the 3 groups of agents of Whisper to each of the siege thingies.

3)Flag one Hero MM and Hero healer to the join the west grp defending the siege thingie and make them stay there.

4)With the rest of your group, Kill the north Margo monk boss first fast and close the rift. Then proceed kill the Warrior Margo boss at the east and close rift.

5)Kill remaining Paragon Margo boss in the northwest, regroup with your camped MM with Healer and kill off the last ele boss in the West and close the rift.

6)Win mission with Masters with Herohench.

I got master's with all 6 defences left intact. Here is what I did:

2 MM heroes
1 BHA ranger interrupt hero
Devona
Hench monk
Other henchmen of your choice
(I was a prot monk)

At the start I sent 1 MM to the east with 2 Whispers, and 1 MM to the middle with another Whisper group. Then I went west, and I cleared all foes west and middle. When the bosses come I killed the warrior (west) first. Distracting Shot is a must because he has very good armour and uses Healing Signet (at half cast speed) all the time. If he is left alive for too long then you can get overwhelmed and lose Master's.

Then I killed the middle boss, and just as I was getting to the east, the MM that was holding it died. I went there and resurrected him and we killed the final boss, all defences intact. BHA is a must on the elementalist boss.

This wasn't easy though, I think it would have been easier if I did it the other way around (MM hold west, I go east), but I haven't tried it.

That would be easier in theory because when the elementalist is dazed he was completely shut down, and dies fast. The warrior on the other hand is the hardest to kill, and also does the most damage since he always changes target and I couldn't shut him down like the ele boss. Blind would have been nice, but I only have so many hero slots, and the AI probably wouldn't be any good at it, blind the wrong people or not spam it enough. So leaving the warrior boss until last means I have all the time in the world to kill him since my other defences are safe.

Hrm, I usually get through this without MMs, but with heavy hexes. Bring Barbs for the bosses, since you've got the Master of Whispers anyways, and Well of Darkness helps at all if you're spamming around hexes like Shadow of Fear. Take all your favorite physical damage attackers, and if you have Olias, give him Order of the Vampire.

On my elementalist, I instead brought Zhed, gave the Master Spinal Shivers, and dragged in a Winter. Then I loaded up something with an Invoke Lightning build, and ran at the bosses.

In every case, I sent two defense groups east and one center, and went west first.

If you move fast, you don't have to worry much about the Kournans. Also, you can just kill the bosses and leave the other Margonites. They won't do much after the boss is gone if you pull out fast, via speed boosts or whatever.

Yep, Minion Master necros make this mission much easier. Also a Dervish (or other class) with Ebon Dust Aura will make very short work of the Warrior & Paragon bosses--with my A/D I easily soloed the Warrior boss while the others killed the Margonites around him.
