BUG: "All dyes cannot be the same color"
TsunamiZ
This needs to be fixed! Stacking 2 dyes of the same color gives different results, and should be applyable!

broodijzer
it doesn't actually.
and you were never able to do it before the preview system anyway, so how do you know?

TsunamiZ
there was dye remover before the new system
broodijzer
what has that to do with it?
from your original post, it sounds like you want to be able to add 2 yellow dyes to 1 piece of armor, which has always been impossible.

Well actually if you place two dyes of the same color into the preview window (no other dyes) the result will be slightly different but you can't apply it. It's not really that noticeable though.
/edit:
I'll get a screenshot:
/edit 2
Here it is
As i said, it's barely noticeable, darkens the color a bit and is probably not even visible on most screens.

try 2 reds...its a lot different
u used to be able to mix dye remover+color
u used to be able to mix dye remover+color
Cherno
and now you can mix color + gray (the new dye remover) What's the problem? You could never mix color + same color.
Amity and Truth
Though i think this thread is a bit silly, i'm tired of the argument "you couldn't do this before" or "has allways been like that". That's no reason for it to stay this way (concerning this thread and all the other ones where people use this pseudo argument).

I'm going to /sign this only because doubling up on a color does produce a slightly different result.

I don't understand it either, it was possible before and it makes a difference (just take a look at 2 Silver or 2 red).
Should be possible again in my oppinion!

you used to be able to mix 3 dyes +1 other color fine, and u still can, but it doesnt really seem to change the color anymore if u add 2 of the same and nothing else.
TsunamiZ
the new gray isn't the same as dye remover. dye remover used to double as the base color of the armor.

/not signed.
The new system allows for the proper colors by mixing the right combinations.
Gray acts as the base color to allow dye mixes to show properly without having to take the base color into account.

/signed, yellow yellow makes a great gold on some armors and would give yellow dye a reason to exist.

I never really understood what prevented them from allowing this in the first place; why would they make it impossible?

to save us dye? which it pointless

I seem to recall a post from Gayle somewhere (though I can't find it in search) saying that the new dye system would allow for adding the same colour to increase saturation. If that's the case, then not being able to add one colour more than one at a time would seem to be a bug.
I can't back this up with a link though..

Seems to help increase color variety and simpler for newer players; being able to yield a different color tone and not being able to apply just makes the behavior confusing.

I like the idea of doing it, it however has NOT been possible before. Never. You could mix 3 dyes and a dye remover, or 3 dyes and a colour that was close, but you could never just mix the same colour.

2 silver is VERY different. I wanted that on my 15k endgame armor but was not allowed to do

It just means it's more realistic. IRL if you use 100ml of dye then the colour will be weaker than with 200ml of dye etc

I tried to redye most of my char's armors after this new dye system was put in.The problem is, with almost all of my characters, I found the perfect color, but that color was made by combining two dyes of the same color and no other dyes. Then I looked at it with just one of that color and it just wasn't the same.
I don't know about you guys, but I usually get two completely different colors when I use two of the same dye, compared to just one.
