What's become of the -2/-2 or -2/-3 shields?

In Nightfall I think all of the -damage shield mods are inscriptions and if true it wouldn't be possible to make one. Come to think of it, I don't recall seeing many (any?) -2/-2 or -2/-3 Factions-skinned shields being sold in Kaineng, D1 back in the day either. I assume they still drop from Tyrian areas (like they used to), unless ANet changed their availability.

So I ask, am I wrong on this and it is possible to get shields like this in other areas of the game besides Tyria? Is Tyria even still an option re: this?

those shields no longer drop, period.

With the damage reduction only against physical, they're pretty much useless now anyway.

Yeah, as Ellie said. +health is pretty much the only way to go.

But if you absolutely insist on double damage reduction, I have a nice -2 stance/ -3 hexed Eternal Shield that I'l sell ya at a deep discount from the 320k I paid for it last year. (thanks Anet...)

When Factions was released, many people were saying that they stopped dropping. But in fact they still did drop in Tyria but never in Cantha. But now I'm not sure if they can still drop in Tyria, I think they should.

The end of game nightfall shields are the best way to go

+30 Health
+10 Armor vs. Cold or Earth

+10 armor (vs. x) > -2/-3 damage
+health > -2/-3 damage

They suck, and they're rare, there's no need to go look for them if you'd ask me.

I had a sweet Gothic Defender on the auction block during the time the 'vs. physical' update on these shields took place. Bidding stopped at update time. Luckily, the high bidder decided to go ahead with the purchase,...*phew*

+10 armor > -2/-3 damage? What math are you using?

-2/-2 Shields are marginally useful anyways. FoW Spider farming, for instance, can make very good use of it.

-2/-2 is only useful for farming now really
