Really:

I hadn't played in a while, and I was thinking of starting NF, so I was doing a little finishing touches on my Factions monk. I was heading to Aspenwood, picked up the scouting quest and everytime the Kurzicks poped up the started in white cubes.

Pentium 4 3.4 ghz
2 gig memory
I have 2 512 sli cards

nvm now my GW is a nice pale blue, good thing I didn't buy NF

I've began to suspect that GW is not SLI compatable, it runs fine on any non SLI computer I have.

Works great on my SLI rig. I run a NF4 chipset with 2-7800GT's.

I used to get cubes, but that's just stopped entirely on it's own. Maybe some of the armor files on a character didn't extract correctly or something.

GW a nice pale blue? Hadn't seen that at all. Driver issue maybe?

I had this (the white cubes). The .dat file was partially corrupt. I downloaded a fresh client, reinstalled the game after wiping the dat file and everything was fine after that. Give it a try, it's a pain at first, but once you've been to one town everything should load pretty quickly.

It could be drivers, the one with the issues runs directx 10. Even on the website the preferred driver is 9.

I am running GWs fine on my 8800GTXs with the new DX10 drivers installed. Flawless after some minor settings tweaking.

My guess is GW.dat is corrupt. Uninstall the game, delete all files except your screenshots, and put a fresh copy on.

If that doesnt solve it, check your graphics cards' temps. If they are too high, you will get something called artifracts. These artifracts show differently in different games. Guild Wars may not seem it, but it is a very stressing program for any GPU.

Hope this helps

Itermittent cubes are GPU artifacts, sometimes caused by bad dadt packets but more often by heat.

Check temps on your card.

Reinstalling GW, didn't fix it. Same place: when the Kurzik spawn in, they spawn into the cubes, but I did notice my upper card was a little warm, so I removed one of the slot covers tio give it more airflow.

Hopefully that will fix it.

BTW Rahja, what tweeking did you do?

Thanks guys.
