DERVISH--TO BE or NOT TO BE

let me start by saying you guys are smart. 1,395,302 heads are better than one (mine). this thread is branching off of the other thread titled "can a dervish use anything other than a scythe". you guys took a ranger, added a necro secondary and made a touch ranger. you took an assassin and made him into a barrage crit assassin. and a helpless monk and made him invincible. so what about the dervish.

i think the dervish and their enchantments rock. but i'm sure most, like me, are sick of always having to recast our enchantments every 20 seconds to be effective. so what i am trying to figure out is what else can a dervish be. what other weapons and or skills can they use. there is an insignia that gives armor to unenchanted dervs. how can a derv become a powerhouse with no enchantments.

or lets switch the tables around now. we took an assassin and gave him ranger skills. a ranger with necro skills. how about the dervish skills. could any class benefit from the dervish skills or buffs. could an elementalist keep the party buffed up with any of the wind or earth skills. meser with their fast casting. or how about useing the ranger again. their ac is about the same. they get an added bonus towards elemental damage. their expertise will lower the energy cost of some skills. (maybe), (or will it).

lets keep this thread going. lets have input. if i missed something someplace where this is already talked about. please provide me with some links. (i tend to fall asleep easy reading these posts and i might of missed something). i like useing a scythe (heads will roll).

The dervish is primarily an enchantment based class, which makes it hard for them to be a good secondary IMO. A 55 character could make good use of Mystic Sandstorm or something because of high enchantment usage inherent in the 55 concept. Id say a R/D could be good on a pure scythe damage build, or a bunny dervish, but expertise wont lower enchantment costs. Ive found that if ur a D/Mo, u can put up ur maintained enchantments and use Mystic Regeneration for an amazing amount of regen (I think someone also said this on the D/Mo mystic tank thread). And since dervishes have tons of PBAoE enchants, just cast and use contemplation of purity for a massive damage and condition spike. Monks could also use dervish secondaries for survival, like using conviction+healing breeze for armor and regen.

If you have Avatar of Melandru, which makes you immune to conditions, in that build could you use Obsidian Flame without the exhaustion? That would make for a nasty spammable and you get +200 health. With the armor buffs in there plus the armor ignoring damage of Obsidian Flame....that would be incredibly nasty. Without the Mysticism primary it would be hard to get the most out of the vatar form though. Maybe D/E? Hmmmm I'll have to try that.

Exhaustion doesn't count as a condition so you'll still get exhaustion even with AoD.
