Videocard heatsink.

Long story short, my videocard's heatsink was removed when I upgraded to a new case, as it was starting to rattle. I wasn't too worried since there would be another fan, more space, etc. I ended up having to move everything back to my old case, but could not reattach my videocard's heatsink - it was on with plastic screws, which were destroyed in the process of removal.
So, my question is - what can I use to reattach it? I've been considering zap straps, but I wasn't sure if those would be okay given the heat of the card. Please help, I miss my MMORPGs. /sob
The videocard is a nVidia GeForce FX5500 [old, I know; upgrading... eventually].

Get an aftermarket cooler and use that. removing the stock cooler is a bad idea from the getgo due to overheating issues. Seeing as you now have the stock one off just go and get a good aftermarket one that will work with your card.

My techie friend suggested I just get some thermal paste and use that, since I'm upgrading the videocard in a couple months [very very good friend buying me new mobo, PSU, CPU and vidcard for Cmas <3333]. I can't find any zap straps, so I guess I'll go with that.
You too, Sera. <3

Thermal epoxy.

Watch it closely if you use thermal paste. Sometimes it will just fall off.
Thermal epoxy is permanent, but safer.

They don't ship to Canada, Rahja. That's where I'm getting all my new stuff [videocard, CPU, mobo, PSU], shipped to a friend in VA, who's shipping to me, for Christmas. But I wanted a fast solution. :/
That, and I have no credit card, and 56 cents in my Paypal.

Well, there is really no fast solution unless your locale computer store has it. If I remember correctly, Future Shop should carry it. Try there.

Future Shop is where I went first, and they didn't have any thermal lubricant, let alone paste or epoxy.
I got 2 zap straps today, which I promptly lost on the bus ride home. -_-
Eh, thanks for your help everyone, we can let this die now. I'll get 'er fixed eventually... :/
