(Races) I want to be different, like everyone else.

I see races being a very plausible addition to Guild Wars (although I doubt I would use them much myself). World of Warcraft's balance relies heavily on racial attributes and was designed in that fashion. Guild Wars was not and thus can cause many difficulties trying to add them later on.
However, I think having races as just a different model set is fine. All races receive identical Health and Energy. The difference is that non-human characters would receive a general use non-attribute racial skill. If players want to use their race, they must sacrifice a skill slot for their professional skills.

Thankyou Addone, screw you Kvan, you know you want to be a bird.
And lightblade, my monk is like 4'6" because I did that.. lol I feal like a midget now.
I still think new species would be great. And it would be hilarious if they had new names for all the spells and stuffs. I cant wait for the day they come out with 'bock of healing'.
And I was thinking, what if they made it so your profession was a species, and not just any class. Like, have a new proffession as a Tengu, and you're a tengu!
But there would be the usual drawbacks... It seems the tengu like to steal humans spells and attacks... So they would need a gigantic spell system which had every single spell in the game renamed. So maybe, you're a T/Me, you're main spells could be mesmer spells and you could use a wand? But then how worthless would the class tengu be... Bah I'm going nowhere..
Nevermind,

I agree it is ridiculous to have additional races, just for the reason to have additional races. Even more so if the races make no sense in the game. Since I have yet to find a single real "Elf" or "Gnome" in any of the three chapters, I would not expect such a race to spontaneously just appear.
Though a handful of viable races have been introduced through the three chapters, as NPCs, short term party members, and even heroes. I would greatly enjoy playing as a different race already presented, such as Centaur, or Tengu.

How about a Charr?! There's still the whole fact that they got kicked outta their homeland, new allies maybe!
But I kinda like being human, I'll play NWN and such for the typical fantasy races, but I completely agree with the increased diversity. Granted they are improving that with more chapters and new looks, and armor that doesn't have inherint bonuses so people pick different ones (although anyone else thinking there are a lot of primevil warriors running about?!)...
