I just spent around 3k on insignias for my cantha armor(big mistake) and so i went to go sell it back and got 30g back for it all. People make mistakes and sometime think ahead like I do. So what if there was a 24 hour money back timer
as soon as you buy something the timmer starts and what happens is if you return the item with in 24 hours you get a full payment back but after the time is up you can only get a little amount back. This would help out people who make a slight miss calculation of how many dyes they need or what runes they can use. This 24 hour money back timmer only counts for: merchants, dye trader, rune trader, scroll traders, material traders, rare material traders and all other traders that do not involve collecting crafts for them for example you could not get a 24 hour timmer from a weapon smith armor smith. If you do anything to the item you also cannot trade it back like mixing a dye. What do you think?Cause problems?Help problems?

Not signed. A system like this wouldn't encourage people to be more careful.

I spent 40k on a 15k luxon chest piece, then salvaged it because it looked ugly. I had already seen the pics on Gwiki but thought... I have 40k... hmmm... what to waste it on?

I don't care that I wasted that money though, I don't keep much on me anyway.

Research what you're going to buy before you actually do so. Not doing so is asking for a loss of money.

This would cause people to exploit it (ie buy runes, dye and gems/ecto ect...when you log on, then make sure to check up on the value 23 hours later to see if they can sell it for more...I know, not a great way to make money, but people would do it). Also, it would just make the system lag more then it does now.
Changing it to 5 minutes would just take away my first point. If you want anything, ask for fitting rooms for armour. But thats another matter.

why would you think 3k is a lot of money and why would you sell it for 30g to the merchant. As long as your armor has perfect stats it doesnt matter what you are wearing onless it doesnt match your build. And if it didnt match your build that is your fault.

I've done many similar things, many. I've probably wasted around 100k+ (quite a bit for me =) on stuff that I didn't like or didn't mean to buy. You don't learn anything from getting it right all the time. You have to make a mistake, and adjust to it.

I don't believe ANet can do that. But even if they could, they wouldn't. This is so open to abuse. Plus the amount of complaints it would generate.

I'm sorry for your lost 3k. When you think about mixing something new from the latest campaign with something from an older campaign, always check guildwiki.org for information.

/notsigned at getting 100% of your money back.

Technically anything youve bought, is then second hand, used or/and damaged with 24 hours.

So why give you 100% back?

Just set the price of selling back to the merchant to be 1/2 or 3/4 its original price you bought it at.

Then some rich guy would buy all the ectos (or anything) in the world from the trader, shooting the price up, and then trading them to people for massive money. Anything not sold is refunded 100% in 24 hours.

Being able to sell items back to the trader for 100% of their value would incourage people to do just that.

You would have the merchant sold out every single day.

People would know they could buy an item, attempt to sell it to others and then sell it back if they werent able to. And not loose any money.

Plus what if someone buys all the ectos, rases the price within 24 hours and then sells them back?

What does the merchant base the price on to buy them back?

The new increased price or the price which no longer exists?

If you consider how many materials, weapons, armor and other items are sold every second of every minute in the game to thousands of people at the same time.....

...thats alot of information to store. The servers couldnt handle it. Your talking hundreds of megabites for each player, each 24 hours.

They would have to put a limit on how many items you can buy each day.

Or you could only do it by allowing them to sell the item back to the merchant, for the price at the time.

So if the price increases within 24 hours, they make a profit.

This is why we have such smaller prices when their sold back to discourage this.

I can understand liking the idea of a preview for new armor types, but an overall refund system is a bit much.

I'd like to see (yeah, ala WoW) the ability to buy back items you just sold, I've accidently sold some things that were worth a lot of money. I can imagine that others have lost more than myself the same way.
