Ok im sure some of you have noticed that pretty much when it comes to the dervish for an enchanters build you have 2 main choices... the Blessed Insignia (+10AL while enchanted... any prof) and the Windwalkers(+5AL for 1,3,5 enchants... Dervish only)
well the choice is rather clear... Blessed is the best to use... reason is well you get +10AL for having even just one enchant on and almost every Dervish can handle keeping 1 enchant up all the time...
When it comes to the Windwalkers insignia the payoff for the possible 15AL bonus isnt worth it... by only have at least 1 enchant up at all times you only get +5AL you have to maintain 3 enchants at all times just to be as good as the blessed and well maintaining 5 is about rediculous to expect...
now yes the above looks like a rant... and the suggestion I have is to change the Windwalkers insig since it is a profession specific insignia to at the least be as good as the Blessed Insignia and actually have a benefit to use...
Windwalkers Insignia
+5 Armor
+5 Armor (while under the effects of 1 enchantment)
+5 Armor (while under the effects of 3 enchantment)
+5 Armor (while under the effects of 5 enchantment)
give same armor bonus as blessed with at least 1 enchant up
gives min of 5Al with nothing up
with 3 enchant up it sounds more apealing
with 5 well this insignia now sounds like it is a profession specific insignia
right now bless is favored over windwalkers... and well imo the prof specific insigs should always be better than the universal ones in the first place...
beyond that i think its pretty cheesy that the derv only has 2 insignias to choose from and the paragon only has 1...

Wind Walkers gives you +10 armor with one enchantment. How is blessed better?

Any SOLO dervish should be able to keep up 1-3 enchants during battle. But when you have a monk on your team, particularly someone running protection, you wind up with all kinds of enchants, yours and others. It has to be the way it is for team balance. Blessed is better than windwalkers for soloing. For teams, windwalkers can edge it out as the better insignia, because of outside (non-self) enchants.

I've been thinking the same as the OP for awhile. The ONLY situation where windwalker's is better is when you have 5 or more enchantments, and that is really narrow.

Truth to be told, I have very little problem keeping up 3 enchantments. Most of the Dervish enchantments have a long duration time and I find this signia to be more useful than blessed. If I was not going to keep 3 enchantments up I would not use this insignia. Just like I would not use a rune of earth prayers if I was not going to put points in earth prayers. I might put on a rune of vitae instead.

The real question is... who wants forsaken insignia? Also, AFAIK, Windwakers gives +5 for 1, 2, and 3 enchantments, not 1, 3, and 5. That isn't unreasonable at all. Topic creator, you should check that... I don't think you ever need to maintain 5.

how often is it that you have been able to sustain 5 enchantment throughout battle constistantly with them being removed them expiring etc... 3 ok can be done but again why use Windwalkers when Blessed serves its purpose better and with less condition...

I as well dont hav emuch trouble keeping up 3 enchantments but they do get stripped its almost garanteed i will have at least 1 up though and thats the point Blessed will grant you 10AL jsut for one enchantment while you are required to have at least 3 enchantments up to get the same benefit as blessed...
at any time you have 5 enchanments up you know its shortlived you +15AL which would make the windwalkers actually better than the standard blessed insig has to high of a cost to do so...
my point is at the least that Windwalkers at the minimup be able to be equally as good as the Blessed... why would they make the dervish only insig weaker most of the time...
before just sticking the idea whatch your entants... tell me how often in battle you enchantments drop to 2 or even 1.... remember when it does you only have 5AL when if you had blessed insigs on ur armor you still have 10 AL...
it really doesnt make sence to me... that you only get +10AL from Windwalkers for having 3-4 enchants up when youd get the same from Blessed while only have to have 1 up

forget my rantings about the maintenance on it... thanks for makine me recheck...
I am almost completely posative it was 1,3,5 before... either that or i had an ectreme case od dislexia... heh sory everyone...
still though.. adding the unconditional 5AL on there makes the insignia more appealing...
it makes you wonder whether the shortcoming of having only 1 enchantment up is worth taking the risk on Windwalkers vs the Blessed

OP: you are mistaken on the stats of the Windwalker Insignia. (Edited to add that I see above you found this out already. I'll leave my remaining comments as I agree, if I were not dependant on enchantments, blessed would be the better route.)
To get max benefit you only need to have 3 enchantments up. For a Enchantment specialist, this is never a problem. If I were more interested in a Scythe Mastery dervish with only using Vital Boon as a health boost with Signet of Piety, then I would definately agree that the Blessed is the best way to go.
Please see http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Insignia#Dervish to review the stats.

Most of the time I have 4-5 enchantments in my Dervish.
They are blanaced as they are.

Yep, you only need 3 enchantments up for the full effect of Windwalker, and I usually have 4-5+ on my Dervish.
