Most of the people who come here looking for help with cartography probably know me from my threads for Canthan and Elonian exploration. They also know how difficult it can be to achieve Grandmaster Cartographer, and how much time me and the people in my threads devote to mapping and helping other people achieve these titles. That being said, I propose a new title:
Great Grandmaster Cartographer (Or similar title with diff name)
I think most people could guess what this title would stand for:
100% exploration of all available releases – Grandmaster Cartography title for every release.
To have the Grandmaster Cartography titles for Tyria, Cantha, and Elona is a huge accomplishment, as in most cases you have to beat the game in order to achieve the title and you have to have at least outlined every major area in the game.
The only problem with this title is that it would have to be dynamic. As with each new release you would lose the title until you achieved Grandmaster Cartographer of the new release. I'm am sure it wouldn't be too difficult for Anet to do, but it would be a different system to the titles that are in current use. However they could make a new system for dynamic titles and use it for other new titles that are awarded for multiple titles of the same nature, that are added with each release (Protector titles for instance).
It just seems to be a needed new dimension for titles and Cartography is what I do, thus the suggestion for this particular one. Right now KOBD is seen as kind of a big deal, but it will become less and less so as more releases hit the stage and thus more "easy" titles can be accumilated rapidly, so soon KODB will become NBDA (Not a Big Deal at ALL).
This and similar titles would also promote players to take multiple characters and run them through every release, rather than just the one's they are native to.
If you see someone with this title then you know they've seen it all.

If there were to happen then it would have to apply to all titles, im sure there has already been a thread concerning a International title eg International Cartographer and International Protecter etc regarding having the max available title for each title in each campaign.

You, I, and many others who have atempted Maxing an exploration Title (or all 3 for that matter) know it is not an easy task.
Worthy acomplishments deserve recognition. ( Offcourse self satisfaction is rewarding in its own way but hey )

I like the idea, but instead of having it be dinamic and having the max value increase by one with the release of every campaign. Because that could get fiddly and annoying.
Id suggest giving it set values.
A title for;
2 continents 100% explored.
3 continents 100% explored.
4 continents 100% explored...
and so on.
Plus dont use the 'grandmaster cartographer' title, because it would just confuse people and its too similar to the existing ones.
Id suggest more original names, to seperate them out, such as....
"Apprentice map maker" for 2
"Novice map maker" for 3
"Master map maker" for 4
"Expert map maker" for 5
"Global map maker" for 6.
Because in essence your seen as trying to map the entire world arent you.
Then maybe we can give benefits to explorers who have those. This would remove the whole "joke" which people have against those who actually aiming for exploration.
If we got benefits to it, they couldnt laugh anymore, because theyd be missing out.
Perhaps give explorers the ability to see chests on their maps, in the same way as collectors and res-points. Hm hm?

/double signed if done how I suggest.
