Help me Decide

okay guys hears the deal, for the past wekk or two i have a character whos been going for legendary defender of ascalon, only problem is...ive lost the will to play, it takes so long to do and is so BORING and knowing i still got 10 levels to go isnt making this any easier ,...seriously im finding excuses on why i shouldnt play, ive barely played nightfalll since i bought it... but i wanna get as many titles as possible, so please tell me now is it worth going for this title, or going back and enjoying the game again,

(no doublespeak plz, i dont want to see this in your answers... no the title isnt worth it..but if u wanna be elite you should get it, i dont need yes/no answers as it doesnt help me)

first, right off lets get something out of the way:

titles =/= you being elite! PERIOD!

if you want the title, go for it. but by the sound of it, you really dont care about it that much. so my question is why are you going for it then?

If you want to work on the titles, work on them. If you don't, don't. From the sound of it, you fall into the second group.

I like to work on my titles, but when I get bored I switch to one of my other PvE chars or one of my PvP chars and go play.

i want to be elite, for a while i was going for legendary survivor...only my cpu would lag, err7 then count it as a death so i gave up on that title and went for its opposite... one that wanted me to die ALOT for a title ...but i dont know if this title is worth me losing intrest over the game....

and yes i do want this title, but its hard, the ppl i go farm with die very quickly or dont heal me...

Is it really worth the title if you're not having fun?

If you realy want the legendary title go for it. But as of this time there is no title for the most deaths, I know my main character has over 3000 deaths to date (I am persistant as heck and will not stop going after a monster til it is dead), and if there was such a title I know that he would have it. I realy do not know if they plan on adding a death count title in the future but I know it will be a common one due to suicidial players.

Getting bored playing one thing all the time? Play something else. When I want a break from playing my Mesmer (primary title hunter), I'll break out my Warrior, or my Ranger, or my Paragon, or my Monk, or my Dervish. The last 3 are still leveling up, and my Monk is in Tyria. I've even got a character in Pre-searing for when I feel like goofing off there.

Stated problem: you want the title, but obtaining it has now reached the status of "work" and thus removed any sense of enjoyment.

Solution: Concentrate on other things that are still fun with a different character. Limit working on the title to in-between times. For example, while waiting to meet a friend to do a quest, go work on title requirement.

And, KillaKarl, when I see someone with the Legendary Defender of Ascalon title, I don't think "Wow... that person is elite." I think "Wow... that person either has no life, or is extremely bored." As has already been stated, having a crapload of titles doesn't make you an elite player. I doubt most people would care, anyway. You're just one player out of around 2 million. The majority of players will never see you or your flashy title.

If spending XXX hours of mind-numbingly boring activity is worth a few people PM'ing you with 'wow, cool title' then by all means continue. Otherwise go have some fun! =)

You have prophecies and nightfall, so there's at least another 5 slots to your account. Go do something else when it gets boring. Maybe use one of those other slots to play nightfall. You bought it, might as well play it. When you're done with a few missions, go back and work on your defender title.

I can't tell you if it's worth it, everyone has different goals in game. You've already said that you've lost the will to play, is the title worth it?

its not hte most elite of titles if u want a title that will give u leet status go for gm cartographer or protecetor maybe even lightbringer maxed they tend to be more fun than suicide
