Nightfall Req 8's?
brave bern
Seems to be a real LACK of max Req 8's for ANYTHING in NF - or am I just UBER unlucky - Discuss!!!

They tend to be only on very rare golds.
I did find a shortbow with a "name" that respawns on the ground in a zone that's blue, req 9, max dmg with an empty inscription slot.

Someone help me understand why low reqs seem to be so necessary to everyone. Is everyone running around with such low numbers in their attributes?!?

Thing is max damage golds with low reqs are very rare, and these rare golds are collected and traded by high end players (people with tons of cash). The requirements of a weapon doesn't affect the damage of the weapon, but it greatly affects the price.

We went off topic a bit, didn't we ?
Anyways, I have gotten a couple req 9 golds from farming in Elona. No req 8's yet... probably as rare as a req 7 in the other campaigns. Imagine getting req 7 Elonian weapon skin O.O

I cropped out the requirement discussion as that has already been discussed and tested. Long story short, once you meet the requirement all that matters is your weapon mastery attribute, a higher attribute meaning more damage and criticals. Go talk about it elsewhere if you must, but it's not open for debate, especially in an irrelevant thread.

The need for low req is simple. You can actually make builds with an attribute allocation that wouldn't be possible with req9 weaps. Imagine a W/N Balance with a max perfect r.7 sword. He can allocate points to Strength and Tactics and keep Swordmanship at 7. It goes like that with a lot of other builds on all classes.
Only actual reason for low reqs to be expensive imo.

OK..now to keep back on track with the OP's topic....I too haven't seen any req 8 gold weapons yet. I've seen in the sell section some caster items that were req 8 but no martial weapons or shields. I pesonally have a req 8 shield that is max armor..but it is purple..but still am able to make it perfect. Wonder why they don't want req 8's to drop? Maybe anets way of trying to lower the prices? But..all in all it really doesn't matter about the req so it's really no big deal...just nice to have if you already have everything anyways.
Count to Potato
The longer the game is out the more req 8's there will be, if there is any req 7's i dont no, but maybe regular white weapons can't go under req 9

The point I was making really was a commercial one - I have opened many chests killed many creeps and not had anything with a Req 8 that is max. In Factions ~I had Req 7 max golds and many Req 8's, I was just interested if this was the communitys experirnce too. As for the actual inherent value of Req 8 it is purely aesthetic - and for that matter is more commercialy desirable!

This topic has been discussed before in another thread. I'm too lazy to dig up the thread, but essentially, max Req. 8 items do exist in NF, but they're very rare, about as rare as max Req. 7 golds in previous chapters.

I haven't found any req 8's in nightfall yet.
But really, low req isn't useful at all. Putting a lower amount of points into attributes will gimp your damage output anyway. Assassins, warriors, dervish, and rangers shouldn't have below 9 in their weapon attribute in the first place.

Hmmm.. you guys are very lucky that your drops are even max dmg...
I get lots of req 8s... but they all have dmg 10-17 and stuff like that...
I kill some demons who can kill me in 3 melee attacks, and their weapon turns out to be something my ranger used in the Northern Shiverpeaks :P

Well, this may be ANet's attempt at boosting item prices and stabilizing the market. This may also make people want to buy Prophecies/Factions.
The Ernada
Well if people want to pay far too much for a low req weapon just because of some superficial value then all the better for us people who go for practicality and functionality since the high req weapons would be a lot cheaper. Suckers!
