Do you think anti-farming code affect your chest runs???

After a few hours of non stop running in torment, my gold drops is almost gone and the quality / rarity of the items drops to common stuffs...

what do you think?

Anti-Bot code*

Yep gold drop rate reduces this stops gold farmers/bots from having unlimited gold available.

Zone to a new area and chest run there for a little while.

i mean gold items drop rate, not gold as in gold (money)

No one kills moster for gold in a chest run

Sorry if my post is a bit misunderstand, what i eant was after many runin the same spot, for example torment, u get lower rate drops like common purple aegis, common purple sword... instead one the betters ones...

I actually got 3 rares, then 1 rare then 1 rare again then all purple run then 3 rares again. So I don't know about that bot code. That happened 3 times.

coz i buy 50 keys n use them at once by running repeated over n over...

in the 1st few runs u get goodie or reasonable items... like nightmare items, new stuffs/skins, however usually after many runs like 10+ trips, i start to get badies, like hand axe, wingblade sword, staffs... blah blah blah... and they are all purple...

that what cause me wondering is that the anti farming code gets kick in or its just bad lucks

I'm pretty sure something is going on here.

I bought 50 vabbian keys earlier, through those 50, I found 3 golds. 1 was an armor piece, the other 2 were req 12 off-hand caster items.

100% of the other items were req 10 - 13, most of which being req 12.

I couldn't believe it, but it definitely happened.

Also, doing missions doesn't seem to affect this. I finished NF (gates / abbadon) then went back to running... same crap for another 25 keys.

Later, I finished my protector title in Cantha and went back with another 25 keys. Same crap.

Also, there were hours within each run, so it's not like I did a 20 minute mission then went straight back. I watched like, 5 episodes of the simpsons today, in between missions / runs...still crap.

It makes me want to run folley again for a bit, just to try and push that code to Tyria, where I never run anymore. -- Honestly, what's the point when almost all of the same drops are in NF now (fellblade, wingblade, blah blah blah) and inscribable. So when you get a req 9 you KNOW it can be perfect if you want it to be.

Anyone heard of anything called...random? I've had many cases where I start a chest run and get all purples and end the run by getting 8-9 golds out of 10 keys, and cases the other way around too. It's all random.

Anti-farm code is the blue box that apears on your screen. It is triggered by killing the same group of mobs over and over. It affects loot drops.

Everything else, is probability.

In probability, there exists a term: Gambler's Falacy. The mistaken understanding of probability has led millionaires to go bankrupt in a single night, insurance companies to go bust on a trivial case, and people to waste their lives over a slot machine.

It is possible, to get 99,999,999,999 purples in a row. It is possible, to get 99,999,999,999 golds in a row. No matter which one you got, the next drop is completely independant.

Since when has random meant the event probabilities need to be uniform? The randomness is weighted towards purple and the experience of almost everyone can back this up. (No doubt someone will now reply telling me how they got 10 perfect elemental swords in a row).

Yes, sure, why not. Not only 10, but 12. All req 8 as well.

The weight doesn't mean it's impossible. Chests are weighed towards purple. But once again, this doesn't even remotely prevent you from getting several golds in a row, or a semi infinite streak of purples. That is the whole point of randomness. If such situations were impossible, they are no longer random.

This is what insurance companies do for living, and this is what built Las Vegas.

But back to the point, there is no even remote evidence that would show any kind of anti-farm code to be present in case of chests. But the sample size is so large, that 50 keys aren't even remotely adequate to show anything. It really is just bad luck.

Thanks for the statistics lecture. It wasn't directed at your post or questing whether it was possible to get 100 billion golds in a row. "Back to the point", the probability distribution could easily be based on how many times you've entered the same area/how many chests opened in the last X hours/etc.

"Remote evidence": the percentage of golds dropping continuously since the release of the game. Same with greens too.

I have noticed diminishing returns in nightfall when it comes to chest running, particularly with margonite chests which will sometimes drop 50 purple in a row for me. Vabbian chests seem much more normal in their gold/purple ratio with around 1 or 2 golds per run being average. I would love to hear a comment from the devs about this.

ya i appreciate if the devs would make some comments on this

the debate abt randomness is hardly agreeable when sometimes the drops over 10+ trips are so crappy... If i can still get like 1 reasonable per trip over an average of maybe 4-5 items, then i would agree its totally randomness...

but for over a period of time / over > 10 trips are all drops are crapness, then u started to have 2nd thoughts over randomness...

Does having higher/lower Treasure Hunter titles affect what you get at all when you open a chest?
