Alright, I think it's time we change the Elementalist (Male) and Mesmer's dances a bit.

I mean, let's see. Necromancer female does a move out of Thriller, Paragon Male does the whole "grease" thing, mixed with a bit of "fabulous" style.

Does the Male Elementalist and the Mesmers need to continue breaking their necks, legs (and other body parts), while the others get to move all across the screen? Come on, time to change it and give us an excellent dance too! *tear*

I refuse to dance my Male Elementalist anymore, it hurts to watch

It's Michael Jackson's beat it, not...... grease.

Ok, fine maybe it's beat it, but none the less there is a bit of hip grabbing and pelvic thrusts.

But your right, it should remain the pop culture and I'm not saying change that aspect, I just want the dances them selves changed or better expressed and not the same boring thing over. Because let's face it, you watch a couple of paragons and dervishes start dancing, you get real into it.

You don't watch five elementalist males throwing their necks out, or mesmers constantly jumping up and down. Add something to it to make it interesting.

PLEASE CHANGE Mesmer dances.. especially the male one.. they are extremelly poor compared to the other classes ones.. and I dont feel it is fair, since mesmer are supposed to be artists: their dance should be the best, not the worst!

I admit I have a male Ele, and I never have him dance. I agree they need to do something about it, the current dance for the male Ele is just sad. There is no rythym to it and he just stands there looking like a fool. I would rather have him play the drums or guitar than dance. Plus my Ele is an original Profecies starter when the game came out. I was one of the first to get the retail version.

The only thing I would like to see changed, is for it to cycle from the beginning, instead of a couple of seconds into it.

I lol'd at the Elaine dance. I love the male ele dance. It always cracks me up, and I see no reason to change it. The mesmer dance is meh, but at least they aren't doing some sort of stripper/pole dance like the female ranger. Really, it all depends on your background and what kind of music you're into, as to which dances you like and which you don't. It's not for any of us to demand a change and deny others their amusement.

Besides being totaly dorky, the male elementist dance doesn't even loop.

Out of all the dances, the male elementist dance is the only one which starts out shy, and ends with a repeatative, idiotic motion.

It isn't really important to me, there is alot more wrong with elementist than their dance, but it is an injustice, you basicly have to switch characters to join a dance party.

I happen to like the way my male Mesmer dances. It goes very well with the classical/neo-classical/folk music that I usually listen to, and it's one of the few dance routines that I can do IRL. How many other people could have a dance-off against their own characters?

I wouldnt remove the dance. But I think it would be cool if characters had a second dance.

Typing /dance2 would start off a whole new dance for each one.

I love the male ele dance. Elaine had the worst dance, like full body dry heaves, I believe the quote goes.

THe mesmer dances are a bit lame, in that they have almost nothing to them, just some irish dance. Gets old fast.

The dances are fine as they are. If ANet changes them other people will start complaining to change them back, and it goes on and on and on and on and on and on... Alot of people like the dances, and I just got the perfect solution for you: If you don't like to watch them dance, close your eyes or go to 1st person view.

I love the male ele's dance

I have a female ele.

*dose a hula/belly dance* "come on dance it's fun anyone can do it!"

*male ele dances* "OH MY GOD!!!"

It's so terrible it's great. The mesmer dance isn't so good in my opinion but if you can get a few couple of mesmers of different genders together it looks pretty frantic and animated.

Monks dance is nice but not really suited to a dance party atmosphere.

Psh... IMO, the Assassin male dance is the worst in the game. The Robot is barely a dance, it's just obnoxious. Of course, I'm not gonna complain about it... you can't expect all the dances to be as awesome as the male necro \m/

Your right about one thing, not matter how lame the dance is, someone is going to appreciate it. So make alternative dances for all of the core classes so we have a choice, just because some people don't wish for better doesn't mean that nothing else should be available.

I love Both Male and Female mesmer dances...

But... Male Ele is something to... well... to forget...

They could make a 'premium' remake of Prophecies, with Bonus weapons, a few more quests, and, of course, /dancenew for all 6 basic classes. That would be a hit beleive me.

Maybe they should just have a [Dance Instructor] NPC who, for 1k (like skills), will change a character's dance type. Simple, bam. (Now we just need to implement this for most every other aspect of the characters that cannot currently be changed and we're all set!)

Now, I'm not wanting to start any sort of wars (which I can see happening here...), but all I'm saying is do something for them. I would love to see the Mesmer male get a bit more irish in his dancing, and male elementalist being looped like all the other dances are.

Nothing is really wrong with the other dances, they loop and bounce around the screen. Elementalist and Mesmer's just sort of stand there...and look like bums.

And, to those who are saying "you didn't get this game for the dances, so shut up.", you are right. I did not get this game for the dances, and ANET does have more important things to do. I've brought this topic up to see how many others favor or disfavor this, and at the moment it's split 50/50 like. Which, in my matter of perspective, would place this whole idea at the lower end, "if we have time for it", sort of thing.

Which, once more, would be fine with me. I bought this game for the game and story, not for the dance. If it's changed, great. If it isn't, that's because the Realm of Anguish is coming out and I have no complaints against that either.
