Apperently (I seem to remember awhile back) These are Extreamly rare staves that could drop even before Factions, I seem to remeber, vaguely, That i saw one Drop in the Tomb's UW, Allthought that could be a trick of memory.

If they did exist before Factions and NF, mThey are rarer then Crystaline Swords, Heck, GW Wiki does not even have a screenshot of it anywhere. But I know they exist, thats a fact.

And no, I am not talking about "The Staff of Orr" I am talking a universal Staff with just about the same skin.

If anybody has a Screen of it, and information about there aquisition (NF and Prophecies Wise) Please inform so.

Nothing on wiki about it. Never heard of it. And i had the game since pretty muhc the beggining and never saw this staff nor heard of anything like it. Other than the Staff of Orr of course but as you said that ain't what you talking about.

the orris staffs were really only earth staffs, but had the same skin as the staff of orr, and so became known as orrish staffs

The skin isn't rare even in Prophecies. It's that they rarely dropped with perfect (or even near-perfect) stats that makes them valuable.

If they were rarer than crystallines they'd be worth millions for a perfect one. ;L

- There's quite a few going around guru since NF keep in mind.

I have one that is only 1 or 2 dmg off from perfect and 3% less then perfect halves recharge time. Sadly I can't add an inscription on it.

In pre-asc, they can be found quite often from skales, but off course they are low dmg ones.

And I'm still on the hunt for a perfect one, with just maybe an inscription slot on it.

I've seen a perfect one on this site, some time ago. They're certainly not in the same league of rarity as crystalline swords, but they're one of the only well designed staff skins, so deserve some status at least

If it actually 'looked' like the Sceptre of Orr I'd sooo want one. As it is though...

Since nightfall has come out the droprate on these has increased massively.

The new 20% recharge on all spells buff that new staves have been given mean that the old staves from prophecies (the 'rare' ones) are now not anything like as desired as they once were.

To top it off the introduction of inscriptions, and the new staffheads and wraps, mean that perfection almost comes as standard now a days.

Old ones = no longer justifiably functional.
New ones = Getting more common by the day.

The same thing has happened to Brute swords and fellblades in terms of droprate/inscriptions

Perfect ones pre-nightfall would be worth 1 million + I had a Req 12 8/8 one pre-nightfall which had bids around 500k ish. Apparently a 10/10 one came up for sale pre-factions (I think) and had bids of 1 million gold. I have heard that a player had a 10/20 one but he stopped playing after his account was banned. The 10/20 an 20/20 ones pre-nightfall would have easily gone for 1 million +.

Ok, so somebody explain to me, if they're really so common, why have there been exactly three auctions of the inscriptionable gold ones on guru since NF came out?

Because not everyone in GW uses Guru as a trading location.
Because not every staff dropped in the game is perfect in their variable stats (eng, %age, dmg, req).
Because golds have a horrid drop rate, and purples are just as good thanks to inscriptions.
Because many people are keeping items for personal use (heroes/themselves).

Shall we continue?
