Hello, this is my first post here but I have come here many times to look up the advice others have to offer.
However, I am having problems that I can't seem to find any answers to.
After reading posts here and information on wiki I made an "Invincimentalist" build with my ele/ran. This raised about 1/2 the cash I needed for my 15k armour which I am gratefull for.
But now, almost penniless, I find out that after Nightfalls release the minotaurs outside elona reach are suddenly not so dumb.
I have searched these pages but it seems there are few who used that build for soloing and no new information that I can find to help me raise some more cash.
I'm working on a monk as there seems to be options left open to them but I was wondering if anyone knows where I can use my ele?
The build uses "mist form" to counter physical attacks but is weak against spell/hexes etc. so basically I'm looking for some decent drops or cash from only physical attackers.
Failing this, if anyone knows of another ele/ran build for solo farming I'd be most pleased if you'd share that info.

This really belongs in the farming forum - you will most likely get better answers.
Also look at guildwiki under their farming builds section (http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Category:Farming_builds).
After that, just experiment some. I farm quite a bit of Maguuma Jungle and do ettin runs with a fire ele. While each run/mob doesn't give as much I can complete it fast enough that I make better per hour than desert runs (only the Dervish beats it in the desert or southern shiverpeaks). Though it is an E/Mo
Basically 8 healing, 10 earth and energy, and the rest in fire (sup+head peice rune in fire magic). I use armor of earth, mending, healing breeze, fireball, flame burst, meteor shower, rodgort's invocation, and glyph of energy. If you pace yourself casting (especially with rodgort's and meteor shower - use one or the other for a set of mobs but not both) and use glyph of energy wisely I have almost no wait between mobs and they drop pretty fast (and yes, I've used this since Nightfall came out and the new mob AI - like other such builds not as good as it used to be. One meteor shower used to get them all, now I usually need one or two flame bursts).
I'm sure there is a better build out there, but this one also fills part of my general farming requirements - I can use it while watching TV or doing something else. Plus it doesn't seem to be the normal type of farming build and I prefer it over most.

You might be able to solo Tuskeds using Mist From+Sliver Armor. (havent't tried it, just an idea.)
They are ranged therefore wont flee. Dont use AOEs because they sometimes spread themselves out a bit since they are ranged.

If you're experienced with that timing, the Obsidian Flesh version has been used to farm Ice Imps. It's called "Mr. Frosty", and was posted here (probably in the elementalist forum). A key idea is that you use Storm Chaser when Serpent's QUickness is down, to get energy.
I haven't really tested any of my Earth builds since the update. I"m bored with them, and am waiting until I get Stoneflesh Aura to replace one of Armor of Earth or Kinetic Armor. I don't want to deal with the annoyance of BOTH of those again if I don't have to ...

with new nightfall skills, you can farm minoturs, ice imp, griffin, kirins, mountain trolls with e/me
mantra of earth
stone striker
stoneflesh aura
silver armor
sandstorm or shockwave {e}
aura of restoration
glyph of concentration <-- for mountain trolls or replace with whirlwind
aftershock.
PS: refer to the farming forum the E/ME terra tank the first 3 skills is the basic of the build (need to keep up all the time) then you can pick and choose the other 5 skills depends on the foes.

Don't despair; you don't need to make a Monk if you want to farm. Apart from the suggestions already mentioned (farm ranged creatures, Terra Tank, and the Maguuma run), I might suggest a couple of things:
1) If you can beg, borrow, or steal Stoneflesh Aura, do so. Stoneflesh Aura combined with Armor of Earth is pretty much the same as the old Mist Form build (anything less than about 96 damage should hit for zero), but it also works against elemental damage, you can keep your elite slot, and you can take whatever secondary you like. Whenever I take this combo, I don't even bother with healing skills unless there is a constant source of degen around.
2) Think about using the DoT AoE spells (Fire Storm, Eruption, Lava Font, etc.). The update actually did us a kindness by making these usable again. Creatures now only run from DoT AoE when their health is less than 50% (just don't cast it before they are in range, otherwise you'll screen them out). So, you can usually kill them half-way using only one skill slot.
3) As long as you're a Ranger secondary, you might want to look into using Edge of Extinction. It takes some "setup" to get it to work right, but it remains the one source of damage the creatures cannot run from.
So, here's a Minotaur build that requires some exotic skills, but combines all of the above ideas.
Edge of Extinction
Crystal Wave
Teinai's Crystals
Sandstorm {E}
Sliver Armor
Stoneflesh Aura
Armor of Earth
Earth Attunement
Earth Magic: 16 (12 + 3 + 1)
Energy Storage: 9 (6 + 3) -- I've been running two Superior runes lately because I feel so secure behind Armor of Earth plus Stoneflesh Aura.
Beast Mastery: 11
Basically, you put up Earth Attunement, Armor of Earth, and Stoneflesh Aura and maintain them, then stroll around and aggro all the Minotaurs. Stop when you've got them all and cast Crystal Wave, Teinai's Crystals, then Sandstorm. This will cause them to flee at a certain point, allowing you to put down the Edge of Extinction. Finally, cast Sliver Armor. As the Minotaurs return the remnants of Sandstorm plus the damage from Sliver Armor will start killing them off. Once three or four go down, the rest follow due to Edge of Extinction, regardless of whether they were attacking or not. So, you get a nice 15-second battle.
If you don't have Factions and Nightfall, you might still be able to pull this sort of thing off, but you'll probably have to seek lower level creatures to farm and perhaps use some Fire Magic skills to get the first batch of kills. Of course, you can always fall back on the Kinetic Armor/Stone Daggers/Ether Renewal builds, as well. Good luck with whatever you choose.

In Factions the Kirin and Undergrowth in Pongmei Valley are very easy to farm with a Mist Form fire ele.
E/Me
Attributes:
Fire Magic 16 (12+1+3)
Water Magic 11
Energy Storage 6 (5+1)
Inspiration Magic 5
Mark of Rodgort
Flame Burst/Inferno
Lava Font
Meteor Shower
Mist Form [E]
Arcane Echo
Channeling
Fire Attunement
Weapon doesn't matter. Just be careful of you use a +20% enchant mod as you can find the echoed MF can expire before you get chance to cast it.
Approach the group. Cast Fire Attunement, then Arcane Echo. Aggro them (you'll have to aggro the Kirin AND the Undergrowths because they are separate groups) and when they get almost on top of you back off a little. This makes them clump up in front of you in the same place. Cast Mist Form then follow with Channeling for e-management then Mark of Rodgort on one of them (so you get them all with it). Cast Meteor Shower then re-cast Mist Form. Then Lava Font followed by Flame Burst/Inferno. They should now be 95% dead (unless one managed to escape the 2nd KD from MS). The burning will finish the rest. If any do survive just use Lava Font or Flame Burst/Inferno to finish them off. They don't seem to have any problem charging back at you with only 5% health left.......stupid buggers
The first hit from MS will knock them down but they'll keep attacking. You need to leave a little gap so you can spike them with your next few spells so use it to renew MF. This gap means that they'll be hit by Lava Font and Flame Burst/Inferno just before the next KD happens, keeping them in place for the full duration of Lava Font which will do 225 actual damage to them. If they survive they may run at the end but the burning from Rodgort should finish them.
Wash, rinse, repeat. You can do it without MS but it will take a little longer due to them running without the KD effect.
