I've recently upgraded my gfx card and now just realised (after some system instability) that the 300W power supply isnt cutting it. Ive looked at power supply guides before so know that quality can differ greatly and that you can usually tell from teh weight of the supply i.e. heavier is better. can anyone recommend a good power supply that wont break the bank?

thanx

Sorry.

No no neon lights or extra fans. Only things ive added to my comp is an extra IDE HD and a SATA HD. The graphics card i got the other day is the AGP 7600 GS passive cooled, doesnt need an extra power source. The power supply i have is 300W, recommended is 400W so prob thinking a little bit more just in case maybe 460W?

Not sure what other info you would need?

Floppy Drive
2 DVD Drives
Running Dual Monitors if that makes a diff

That Antec is a pretty good bet, but personally I'm biased towards the Hiper Type-R myself. Had one in this rig for ages and it's by far the most trouble free and stable PSU I've ever owned.

This is the one I have :-

I love the Antec TP's. They are rock solid. Here's a site I've bought a few from, best prices I've seen:

They used to have TP's, but looks like they have SP's now.
SP450 for $53 is still pretty good.
