I got Lightbringer (1) on my paragon today and i went to chantry of secrets to get the lightbringer blessing :| but the seeker of whispers wouldn't give me the blessing thing :| my bf has the the blessing but i dont ><

You need to display the title to have the blessing active. The Seeker of Whispers just gives you Lightbringer specific skills as you ascend in the ranks.

To get the Lightbringer skills you must be lvl 3 at least. I am currrently at lvl 5 and working on getting further up the ladder (farming for points is so boring).

Actually, it works like this: Every rank gives you +5% damage and -1 Damage reduction Vs Abbadon's demonic servants, but only if you have the title checked as your active title. As for the currently present Lightbringer Skills; Gaze is obtainable once you achieve R2, the Elite Signet is unlocked at R3. Hope that helps

To actually be able to gain the bonus though, displaying it or not, you have to talk to the rank officer I think.. But you can only do this after talking to an Agent of Whispers, and he directs you to the rank officer in Chantry. Not sure how many of these steps you actually need to take. It could just be that you haven't displayed the title, Christie.

Once you hit lvl 1, you've got to talk to the agent of whispers in chantry in order to officially activate your lightbringer title. Until you do, you won't receive any lightbringer blessings at the shrines.

In responnce to Skykoone, I was LVL 4 lightbringer before I got to the chantry of secrets and still got the blessings from the shrines (like a newb I was unaware of the lightbringer skills that came with the title until after a guild mate told me about them), so you still get the blessing and can get the bounties even if you dont talk to anyone in the chantry of secrets.

MegaMouse, that's news. As soon as I got to LB 2, the Whisps Informant told me to go to Chantry first, offering no bounty for elementals or whatever creature... ah well..
To OP. Azrael gave the answer. Need to have LB title on, to get the dmg bonus. LB skill follow later.
