Now, in attempting to solo the Underworld with an AotL/Sac life Necro, I stumbled upon the bile-ish revalation that there are disenchanters. Who use Rend. And totally own you. I have been despairing recently, until my Guildie mentioned that these Nightmares (who disenchant), have very low health.

So, I'd like to know exactly how low. Low enough to kill with one Plague Touch+Dark Aura? In reading Undead Preacher's thread, I've seen his build add Deathly Chill, at 89 damage, into perspective. And this supposedly kills the Nightmares in one casting.

Basically, I'd like to know if this information can be confirmed. Running a solo build, I'd be subbing Deathly Chill with the dangerously long-to-cast (but still 1 second less than Rend) Shadow Strike, OR simply Saccing the buggers to death.

There health is low enough that you can pretty much use a max damage wand or missile weapon and hit it 2-3 times and it will die.

About 64 dmg with my bow is around 60%. I estimate 100hp.

They were specifically added to stop solofarmers from entering the UW, or at least make them think a little bit more to solo it.

The trick is to listen for the noise when they spawn, and when you hear it ... if you're fighting some large, ugly creature ... RUN LIKE THE WIND back to your two ghost friends there near the start, and use them for cover. They will actually kill themselves with rend if they get the cast off.

Your alternative, as some others have posted, is to attempt to wand/spell them a few times to kill them ... only problem is: if they *do* manage to strip your enchants, you're dead from anything that happens to be attacking you at the time ... not worth the risk IMHO, unless you like spending alot of plat to get good spawns in the UW Half the time you're so worried about killing that Nightmare that you're not watching your enchants, one expires, and you're face down in the dirt before you know it. Always better to retreat and fight from a tactical position.

You might also want to note: Aatxe will get stuck by the ghosts, Grasping Darkness' will *NOT* so clear the area of any DN's before opening the gates.
