I really like the new hero system, though here is the problem I am dealing with. I have 9 character slots on this account, 14 hero's per character adds up to 126 hero's total.
Now those 126 hero's need good weapons and runes in their armor, Wow thats a lot of cash out of my pocket, plus not to mention hero's are taking their share of the loot, my thought is since they are picking up drops then they should be able to contribute to bettering their build such as paying for weapons and runes.
Now for my next problem, lets say at one moment I want to make Koss a Sword warrior, I would want to put a superior Swordsmanship rune in his armor to increase his attributes and equip him with a good sword, but then for a different quest or mission I would like to change up his build to Axe, but what I want is to be able to switch back and forth on a whim. The issue is where do I keep all this extra stuff, I. E. the extra runes and the extra weapons? My storage space is rather limited as it has to hold the contents of my original 9 characters. My sugestion is a rune and weapons bank, done somewhat in the manner that the manage template feature is done in.
A list of the items I have in the bank as well as the amount of that item, like say 3 superior vigor runes as they could be sacked in the bank as they are identical items, and the the weapons could go in as a description of the item, simply select the item and it comes into your inventory. I think that the rune and weapon bank is an easily do able inprovement.
And realisticly it will cost me a small fortune to equip all 126 of my hero's, I dont have a problem with them collecting loot but if they do then thay should help pay for their equipment,if this was an actual person they would buy their own equipment from the money they earned just like I do. Thank you

if we have to use our own money for our heroes then we should get whatever drops get assigned to them. *nods*

You don't really need to keep alternate weapon/rune sets. For warrior heroes, you don't really need much more than "deal damage and tank", which both axe and sword do pretty much equally. The only major difference is hammers which deal more damage at the cost of 16 AL. I can see wanting to have a shield for both strength and tactics builds, but you can just set up Koss as one and Goren as the other.
For spellcasters, my philosophy is to just generalize as much as possible. Ideally I'd like to have 10/10 weapons for all of them and focii with a req in their primary attribute, and all minor runes. Of course, they won't be quite as strong as, say, a minion master with a 20/20 death staff and a superior death rune- if you want to sacrifice flexibility for power, that's perfectly fine.
As for item costs, remember that you don't have to upgrade your heroes. Henchmen don't use runes or weapon upgrades at all, so heroes will function just as well without them. Personally I'm not spending any money on my heroes at all, and just giving them hand-me-down weapons, runes, and insignias as I find them, unless it's something valuable enough to be sell-worthy.
I do agree that runes should be stackable though, although I don't collect them enough that it would help me much.

Thank You Wrath of Dragons for the links, in the future I will use the search before adding a new thread.
Some people may wish not to add runes to their hero's, I however like for my crew to be the strongest they can be. also on one character I have chosen Norgu and not Goren so at the moment I do not have the option of setting up 2 different warriors, and the same with the other "choice" Hero's.
So far I am only using 3 characters with hero's as I havent used my other 6 characters, It would be helpful if while I am playing these characters and I come across runes during play I had a place to keep them for when I need them I. E. a rune bank which is not a storage at all but a list of all availible runes that I have collected and have availible for use, a weapons tab can be easily added to this bank.
I like versatility as it makes for a versatile game, plus there may be a time where I want a hammer and axe warrior duo or two axe warrior duo. Also if I have a weapons bank as well it gives me more options as we know explorable area's differ one weapon may be more useful than another in certain area's. I would also like to put forth that if I dont upgrade my hero's they then are nothing more than a henchman with a skill set I choose, it is the upgradeability that make the hero something more than just a hench
