Guild Wars Won't Connect to ArenaNet

Just today as I tried to get on Guild Wars I ran into an unexpected problem. When the program first opened and I got to the screen that said "Connecting to ArenaNet" above a percentage bar, nothing happened. The bar stayed at 0%. I have left Guild Wars at this window for quite a while, and so far, nothing is changing. I even went as far as restarting my computer, but it was no help. Any advice or insights on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Have you allowed it permission in your firewall since the updates? If not, just go into your firewalls program control, delete the Guild Wars entry and then re-add it.

That may be a solution, if not I'm sure someone else will jump in.

I'll try that, but every other time a firewall has blocked GW, it's given me a message telling me and presented the option to immediately change it.

It is probablly because of the big update today if you have a slow connection. Just give it time to get the update. If you fail to connect to a.net it will tell you. You just have to let it download the update.
