Just so you know this is yet another "help me I'm a noob" thread. Yes I do realize there is a search button, but I'm not even about to tear open every thread in search for exactly what I am looking for. I'm a noob, yes.
I have a Monk/Mesmer level 18. The farthest I have been is Quarrel Falls. I've learned that being a high level means nothing as far as how good you are. I've been playing Guild Wars for a month or so now and could really use some advice on my Monk/Mesmer.
EDIT: I am now in the desert. I have been to Bergen Hot Springs, Temple of the Ages, Fishermen's Haven, Sanctum Cay, and The Amnoon Oasis.
I need some help with a good healer/smiter combo. Something to keep me alive with a few henchman on some of the harder quests with level 15 and above enemies. I think I enjoy looking around in Guild Wars more than just fighting it up, but it is very hard to just stop and take a look around, explore, with other people. I in no way want a 55 monk.

So.... I need to know a good build. I really really need some good smite attacks and where to get them in the game. It is very frustrating in Guild Wars now. Before I could handle the game pretty well, and now it's like impossible.

I say to make a smiting offensive casting build using Smite and Domination skills, OR, make a healing build. Be good at one of them, not mediocre at both.

If you want to be an offensive damage dealing caster, there are lots of Smite and Domination skills that will serve you well. I completed the game as a smiter (not a solo/55 build) myself and really enjoyed doing so.

Hmm, it would be nice anyway to know a good combo for healing and a good combo for smiting.

People say to get certain skills but I have no idea where/how to get them, or at what point in the game I should have them.

If you plan on doing missions/quests with parties (not henchies) I would advise against full smiting, only because you'll piss a lot of people off when you're not healing them . Hope that helped though GL

Hello,
Have been playing monk mes for 6 months and doing pvp with my monk for the past 4 months.
My first advice to u is to drop the smiter attitude. A 55 monk can smite solo in some areas but for the most part your job is to heal or protect. One not both.
With the Mes secondary u now can use Channeling Skill. This is very powerful way of gaining energy. Put it on your skill bar when using Boon.
Next the Mes secondary lets u use Signiture of Midnight. Very powerfull blinding skill for those pesky warriors. Be sure to load Mend Ailment to unblind yourself.
U can also change secondary to necro. Pack Offering of Blood for more energy.
Have seen were many better monks r doing that now.
Remember, whenever u put in a new skill go to the desert solo and experiment with it to find out how it really works.
Good luck
