For all you Skill cappers out there looking for a nicely organised skill list… look no further! BUT! Before I will go any further, I am linking to Guildwiki pages in this Database. I would like to thank them for making this job a lot easier. If you can find all the elite skills nicely listed on one page it saves a lot of websearching. Beside that their pages have a nice look and setup. Yet again, thanks a lot people!
Now then: I created a database (DB) which lets you organise and search your capped skills easily (IMHO). It has been fabricated in Microsoft Acces. If you do not have Acces, the DB will not work (maybe it will with another DB program, but I’m not sure about that). The rest of this message will include a large explanation about the way the DB works. If you have worked with DB’s before… just go ahead and use it. I grouped the Query’s in Groups. I think they are easy to use this way, if you have questions I refer to the big message following this.

Very well, for those of you who have never used a DB here’s a little explanation. All the data in a DB is stored in Tables (or in one specific Table here, “Elite Skills”). Ignore the Table “Elite Skills”, it’s a big load of unorganised data. It will take days to find what you want. The data can be organised by using Query’s. In this case I used 105 query’s if I am correct. They can be found under “Query’s”. You are advised to ignore these Query’s as well. They bring order to the Table, but are themselves an unorganised mess. To organise the Query’s, I used Groups. You can find them in the column to the left. I created a Group overview. This one includes the Query’s to see all your skills (capped and uncapped), and all your skills per chapter (capped and uncapped). Underneath that is a group for each profession. These groups include query’s to see all the skills of a profession (capped and uncapped) and all skills per chapter (capped and uncapped). This is the easiest way to use the DB.
Now that you know how to get information out of it, I’ll explain what categories I used in this DB. There are 10 columns, which include the following:
1. A yes/no box
2. The name of the elite skill
3. The profession who uses the elite skill
4. The chapter where the elite skill can be found
5. The boss who uses the skill
6. The area where the boss can be found
7. The boss who uses the skill (#2)
8. The area where the boss can be found (#3)
9. The boss who uses the skill (#3)
10. The area where the boss can be found (#3)
With the yes/no box you can indicate whether or not you capped the elite. The importance of the name, profession and chapter categories should be clear in my opinion. The boss (x3) consists of a link. This link redirects you to the Guildwiki page about the boss. This gives you a quick look at where the boss is exactly in his area. The area is just to make the DB look complete. If the boss hangs around in a mission, the name of the area is followed by “(mission)”. If the area is an explorable area of a mission (for example Boreas Seabed) it just says the name of the area (Boreas Seabed in this example).
The principle of the DB is quite easy. Once you cap a skill, check the box belonging to the skill and you are set. Because all the data is in one table, making a check in one query (for example: All Uncapped Ranger Tyrian Elite Skills) makes a check in all the query’s that are effected (in this case: All Uncapped Ranger Elite Skills, All Uncapped Tyrian Elite Skills and all Uncapped Elite Skills). This gives it a huge boost over for example Word or Excel because you can have different search results AND at the same time use only one set of data.
So in conclusion, here is a database to aid you in organising your skill capping exploits. Have fun with it, and good luck! Gotta cap them all!! (Apologies for the bad pun
