allright i'm not great at computers so i have a question
is there a way to make my hard drive lose everything and i mean everything
i do not have any admin rights on my own computer
i have no rights on my account at all
so i can just go click delete all anywhere without a password
so is there anyway to clear my hard drive

Clean the hard drive (Format) at start in BIOS
You lose all on it, XP or what ever program you got. So have all program CD's handy before you do anything.
Why don't you have admin rights if it's your computer!?
Is that why you wanna clean it out compleatly? couse i'm sure you can change thoes rights in the controlpanel (My computer -> Controlpanel -> User accounts)

There is a program called "Wipe Drive" that works quite well. It will completely erase all data on a hard drive. Depending on how many passes it makes the data can be completely rendered unrecoverable. This is handy if your computer has caught a virus and there is no oother way to get rid of it, or the virus has rendered the computer unbootable.

The only sure fire way to remove all data from the hard drive is to physically destroy it, i'e acid bath, so there is nothing left. Using these third party programs to re-write over will not remove the data completely.
Any law enforcement agency will be able to extract data from the platters on the the hard drive even if the have been written over or partially destroyed.

Theres a little more explanationneeded, it sounds like you want to wipe everything off your drive, then reinstall the operating system and then your progams, that right? If so, you can right click the drive partition with the O/S on it, and select "Format". If you cant do that for some reason, boot into Safe Mode(F8 key during loading, check bottom of screen as BIOSloads), and try it.

Ummm, why not just make the bios boot from your Windows/Mac/Whatever CD and delete the partition. Then make a new one, and the program will ask if u want to remove it all. Don't choose the "quick clean/format", cus then all files will still be there. And, Gorebrex, u can't format the drive with the operating system on it while in windows (if u meant a 2nd harddrive, I misunderstood).

Im just used to my dual boot, have O/S on 2 partitions, so I sometimes forget, especially if I dont get my morning brain juice. The format during reinstall is good, but make sur you rename or move your My Documents foler, if theres anything you want to keep in there.

an older quicker way of starting a hard disk all over again is fdisk, for the fastest way to get rid of data. I know it aint secure way, but its old school.

Format your comp only when you have to, example big error or virus. I only format my comp when I get new graphics card, RAM, etc...

when I get new parts for my comp, for better performance and dont really care about the deleted stuff. It's recommended to format when you change almost everything in your comp.

This sounds like an issue you should really talk to your parents about. If you're able to prove to them that you can handle your time and computer use in a mature way and that you really don't need the limitations, there's a possibility that they might remove the time limit controls, or at least relax them to let you have a bit more freedom of access. Wiping the whole computer clean will not be a productive way - while it might work for a while, it will inevitably get found out and could lead to more severe limitations being placed on your access.

I'm pretty sure there's a fast way around that netnanny stuff of w/e program your parents use. Just don't use that way. Talk to your old man, and negociate. It works!
