I could see the benefits of a 'variable' hero. In the sense of it does not have a set primary profession, but you choose which primary profession it has as you aquire it. After that it is set.
There could be advantages of being able to set up a team with say 3 hero monks/rangers/warriors, or 2 mesmer heroes.
