Loud Buzzing from Speakers

Recently, my speakers have been making periodical loud buzzing sounds only on Guild Wars. They last a few seconds then go away. There's no consistent way to tell when it will come back, it just does relatively shortly. This started about a couple weeks ago.

Could this be from an update on my computer? Update my soundcard, maybe?

The same is happening to me. The noise comes when the game first starts and when a new area loads.

**EDIT** well actually the sounds are actually just various sound effects played very loudly for half a second.

just wondering, if you have a cell phone next to your computer, i've noticed when i do, it'll in a non consistent manor cause my speakers to make buzzing noises. Especially if someone is calling.

My cellphone's in a nearby drawer, but the same place it's been in since before this problem started.

Can't say I've noticed any other out of place things that may cause outside interference either.

is it that type of interference sound though? Like that type of sound when you get your phone to close? Or is it like a game gliche skipping or something type sound. I don't know to much about sound problems and whatnot, just thought i would pose the question.

Try recording it with ventrilo or some other sound capture program. If you can hear it then, it's software or your soundcard. If you don't hear it on tape, it's probably your speakers...

It could happen from a cordless phone, I remember my 2.4 phone would give me buzzing when it got close. And also if the drawer is pretty close to your speakers try moving it to a farther place because that is most likely your problem.

I have a 5.8ghz wireless phone, right next to my computer and there is no interference at all, im not sure if the 2.4 would make a difference though.

Dont know if this will help, but I was listening to some music on Winamp, and after a while, I heard that the sound was kinda distorted. Had to check something, turned off monitor(wasnt sure how long Id be), was about 30 seconds later I turned monitor back on, sound was fine.
