At the moment there is no way to increase sunspear points, and increasing lightbringer points requires endless non-fun grinding.
I suggest that we use two of the challenge missions to give away sunspear and lightbringer points per-kill or per-set-points.
The two challenge missions in question are:
- Dajkah Inlet to give sunspear points.
- The Shadow Nexus to give lightbringer points.
Obviously both challenges already give away green drops required for armor. How ever I dont see why we cant provide another insentive to play them.
The only other alternative is to add two completely new challenge missions to do exactly the same thing; giving away sunspear and lightbringer points.
But that seems pointless to me, when we already have existing challenges which not alot of people use. Not from my experience anyway.
Plus with the introduction of DoA and end-game Hero armor, I expect people will choose to aim for this new gear instead of the elite stuff found in challenges. Detracting from people playing them. I could be wrong how-ever.
Obviously this would also make earning points alot easy, but the plus side is it adds fun to earning those points.
I would suggest they give you 1 point for ever 5 points you earn. If anyone has a better suggestion as to how the points would work, then please say.
I didnt suggest using Remains of Sahlahja , purely because I dont enjoy it and having to play that to gain exploration was bad enough.
Anet may alreay have plans in the works to give us challenges to earn sunspear and lightbringer points, but if not, then I think this is a reasonable alternative.
Plus I expect Anets idea is to add more sunspear blessings at res-points to allow us to earn them when killing creatures.
I personally dont like this system anyway, because it incourages farming and as I said before, its just not-fun. And with Anet being so dead-set against farming, I dont understand how they can incourage it like this?
People are bound to pick favourite places to earn lightbringer or sunspear points and then set up camp and always use them. The result being those areas get lower drops and everyone is hit by the "anti-farming" code for using that area too much.
By using challenges, we pull people away from farming and into set areas where they can earn them. It stops any knock-on-effects in instances to everyone else, and makes it more fair to those who arent good at farming.
