Hi, I was wondering if I could get feedback on this build?

Scythe Mastery (10)
Earth Prayers (10)
Mysticism (11+1+3)

Aura of Thorns <--- (Snare/slight DoT)
Conviction <-- Standard Defense?
Heart of Fury <--- Increased attack rate
Pious Haste <--- for closing in
Twin Moon Sweep <--- highlight of the build
Faithful Intervention <--- defense? (probably need to swap)
Avatar of Lyssa [E]
[Free]

Anyways... how this build should work...

This build is supposed to PUNISH long cast times. Avatar of Lyssa at 15 Mysticism gives your scythe/whatever +50 damage. Combined with Twin Moon Sweep, that's looking at +100 Bonus damage. However, the scythe itself provides ample damage, around 40-50 points per swing... so if you nail a caster using a Res signet... that's about a 200 damage spike right there. (unless the math doesn't work that way. =/)

If it's too hard to get to a caster, this build CAN be played defensively, as well. Use Aura of thorns near incoming melee characters, to prevent them from getting to your squishy targets.

This doesn't really work on Paragons or rangers, but it SHOULD work well against Ritualists, nukers, and monks? <--[lucky shots? =/]

Sorry if this is old, but how should I improve on this runewise/skillwise?

You could try using Arcane Condundrum or Frustration to get more of that bonus damage in there.

ok...great anti well anything build.
suggestions
Drop earth to 8 and raise scythe higher
replace Aura of Thorns for crippling sweep/or (if you go /Me a spell that makes them take longer to cast)
drop pious haste for mystic regeneration<--standard tank/self heal spell
drop faithful for vital boon<--increases max health/ heal when removed
and the extra slot is for a Rez sig o course
ok so the good idea here is to make sure to cast vital boon last so that when you remove it through mystic sweep it will restore your health. Also you don't really need to worry too much about snaring your target because they should be standing there casting. Also just thought of the disastrous effect an AoL twin moon sweep could do on a warrior using heal sig.. double +50 damage twice zomg soo the math is around 60 base damage +50= 110 X2 due to Twin moon=220 = one dead warrior to take a dirt nap
and then worst noob scenario... frenzy being active during heal sig cast 220x2=zomg pwnt

anyway good build, very original, gonna try this in RA some time soon

You lack a Rez Sig.

My suggestions would be
Crippling Sweep <-- Crippling
Conviction <-- Standard Defense?
Heart of Fury <--- Increased attack rate
Pious Haste <--- for closing in
Twin Moon Sweep <--- highlight of the build
Vital Boon <--- Extra health + Healing
Arcane Conundrum <-- Doubles casting time of spells
Avatar of Lyssa [E] <-- Combine with Arcane to do massive Damage

Earth 8
Mysticism 11+3+1
Scythe Mastery 10+2

I wonder....Nah, free could by no means mean that you can put anything you wish in there.

I bet this build would be super fun to use against on the fire eles in AB. Meteor Shower = 10 seconds of playing with over 50 bonus damage.. *drool*

You could always drop Earth Prayers altogether, you know.

12+1+2 Myst
12+1 Scythe

[E]Avatar of Lyssa
Crippling Sweep
Twin Moon Sweep
Heart of Fury
Heart of Holy Flame
Pious Haste
Faithful Intervention
Res

...it's less self-sufficient, but self-sufficiency is overrated on dervishes. A friendly monk with Reversal of Fortune on his bar does more for you than Conviction ever could. Oh, and I threw Holy Flame into the last slot to add a bit of a fire-spreading theme to the build. It's byootiful with Twin Moon Sweep.

I'm not a huge fan of the Arcane Conundrum idea. In PvP people aren't going to be stupid enough to start casting a 10s Meteor Shower while they're being wailed on*, and in PvE mobs die fast enough that it's not worth spending four seconds on "preparations" (2s Avatar and 2s Conundrum) before you even start attacking.

Finally, ditching Earth Prayers lets you get away with running only a single Major rune. That extra HP is valuable on a Dervish...

*...OK, plenty of idiots will. But odds are you were going to kill them easily anyway!

Also.. the avatar lasts for a bit, you know. It's more just a 2 second thing, and it's a spell, so it's not like you have to be right next to them or anything. Ditching Earth Prayers is usually the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of dervish builds, but I'm soooo tired from finals I'm not thinking of much at all anymore. ^.^
P.S. - Frustration has a 1 second cast time, if you'd rather use that. You also need less in Illusion for it to work great - 11 is constant.
