Well, I've been having alot of problems with my internet. Mozilla, Guildwars, and a list of other programs have reported I have no internet connection. My firewall is off, I've checked my internet settings. No idea what could be wrong. I'm using a dial-up internet connection and I'm running Windows XP pro service pack 2. I'll be exteremly greatful for any help at all.

I'd contact your ISP and see if they can help you.

I did. They said there is nothing wrong with my connection, that its some thing wrong with my computer or the programs. So they pretty much told me if I don't have a direct problem with they're service to piss off. lol.

Here a few things to try: 1 turn your firewall back on, shutting it down invites disaster by way of hackers, malware and other nasties 2 click on your network icon and check to see if it is enabled, sometimes it get accidently disabled and this can cause you to not be online, 3 run :Ad-Aware, Spybot Search and Destroy, and any other Spyware removal tools that yoiu have. 4 If these fail and you are on DSL or cable high speed then turn off your computer and unplug the modem's power for 1 minute allowing it to reset the memory cache. After you plug it backj in wait til it gets the signal then turn on your computer. If these things do not help then you may have to do something drastic, like call microsoft to have them walk you through some troubleshooting (check the knowledge base firts if you can).

Hope this helps

Also might want to check Properties for the modem, Ive had mine adapter get turned off by Windows("to save power" ... pfft!), and was getting "No Connection" errors.
