Storage Interface Button

I was in Gate of Torment earlier and getting frustrated by the idiotic placement of the storage NPCs; so much so in fact that I discvered it was significantly quicker to map to the guild hall, access storage there, then map back to Gate of Torment.
So why not make storage just an interface feature when in town instead of making players run ridiculous distances just so they can free up some space in their hellishly overcrowded inventories?
This idea first struck me back when the storage agents in Amnoon Oasis were ridiculously hard to find, and it's irritating to see the map designers are still making the same basic mistakes.
You could push it even further and add interface buttons for the traders, but that might be going a bit too far; but even so, at the very least their map positions should be revised for easy access.
One of my favourite locations in the whole of Guild Wars is now Bone Palace.
Not because it looks good (it doesn't; it's poo aesthetically);
Not because the comedy lich Palawa Joko is in residence there;
Nope, it's purely because there are a lot of essential facilities all close together.
Oh, also, I'd like the "leave" button in the party window make you leave the heroes in your party too. Having to kick each one individually is a pain in the arse.

If ANet did this, or if they placed all useful NPC's (storage, merchant, all traders, armor&weapon guys, etc), at one convenient place, then everyone in the city would stick just at that one place, and the rest of the town would be a graveyard.
They are trying to make town a little more livelike. A little running won't hurt. Be glad you can at least WARP to the town, unlike some games, where the only way to get to a town (explored or unexplored) is to run all the way to it.

Yeah, just like how we made the outposts in the Crystal Desert more livelike because people had to warp there to access them. I completely agree with the OP on this, it seems stupid to have to map to access certain traders aswell... (even less sense that you have to PAY someone money to sell you crap for them to make more money at your Guild Hall, but that's something else altogether)
I say, add interface for all that stuff in the case that there isn't that particular trader around (while in a town) and make them unlockable in PVE after you talk to them (temporarily until you leave, then you have to speak again) that way you don't have to back track if you have a full inventory for instance just to go talk to a collector.
Maybe that's slightly too lazy, I'm not quite sure...

Been to Kamadan recently?
Everyone hangs around storage anyway.
Same can be said of LA and Drok's.
The thing is, in places like Gate of Torment, it's not even a straight run to storage, and it's not on the same level as your character. And to add insult to injury, when you first land in town, storage and the merchants are too far away to show up when you press Alt.
Impractical and aggravating.
They did the same in Vasberg Armory with the storage agent there.
Running for a few secs to get to storage or the merchants I don't mind.
Searching for minutes at a time hacks me off.

This doesn't solve the problem of missing storages, but you can just open it and run around town with it too.
And I like exploring town.. Except for vasburg armory where it took 50 seconds to get from the portal to the storage, and then another 50 to get back.
/notsigned sorry

we can already open the storage in a town and run anywhere having it opened so it basically works just like an interface feature but it's hard to open.
This would actually make cities more livelike as people wouldnt clutter at storage in most towns but run around more. No need to move any NPCs.

Another idea is that this would bring up a list of people you can warp to within town, so that you can move around quickly yet not clutter one spot either.
Less townin', more killin'

As long as it is only active in outpost, I have no problem about that.
But they should add some counterpart, like... having to pay the 50 gold pieces fee for each territory and additional 50 gold pieces for the new feature... maybe an item that opens the stash when used? Maybe just another menu option that is grayed until you pay for it to Xunlay Representatives?

Yup theres some pretty bad storage placement. Ever been to vasburg armory? I spent the first 5 minutes looking for storage... and asking... because it was so far away it didnt show up when i pressed alt XD

I can't find any reason not to support this idea.
I usually just end up auto-running to the storage NPC after click targeting after holding the ALT key down.
I would like ANet to overhaul NPC dialog boxes as well:
-Make them movable and able to be locked to a portion of the screen
-Reduce the number of clicking you have to do to get thru the dialog
-Fix the dialog boxes so they aren't just a wall of text (often having to scroll through it)

/unsigned for magical storage access
- Detracts from some realism, what's to stop storage access in the field if you can press a button anywhere in a town(or arguments for it anyways)?
There's a certain amount of common sense in talking to the npc that you need to do business with.
/signed to move the storage npc
- Put quests and such out there like they did with Ascalon.
