I partied up with an elementalist to go charr hunting in pre-searing, then suddenly saw him using Stone Daggers and Ward Against Harm.

I know the GoTY edition came with 8 skills for each profession one of which, was elite.

the goty edition skills are unlocks for pvp only, not a pve character

No this is not possible plan and simple as those skills aren't availble.The only way that this could of happened was when the exploit to the Guild Hall was avaible in pre.He stayed logged in long enough to get someone to take him to get stone daggers and cap Ward Against Harm where ever that is must be in the South Peaks.That s how he was able to get these skills and has been in pre since then.

You used to be able to do this, but it's been fixed for quite some time. You could start to make a pvp char, put desired skills on the character, back button to start a new PvE char, and the created character would have the skills from what you put on the PvP bar.
I know there are a few MM in Pre with Animate because of this.

I do know that the elementist outside Foible's Fair in Pre-Searing uses Ward against Harm ( elite ).
But sounds like someone abused some bug/exploit if its a player with those skills in pre-searing.

wait, I remember a bug where you could take your Pre Searing character to your Guild Hall. If that person had unlocked those skills they could have purchased them from the guild skills vendor. Not sure if they were available during that time, though.
If not that, then they took advantage of the Factions character spawn glitch. I can't think of any other way they could have done this.

Gorebrex, that was during an exploit where presearing characters could visit the guild hall after finishing observer mode, several people have simply traded with presearing characters to give'm full loot etc. ( I believe one of the mods has a "maxed out" presearing character: max dmg weapons and shields, and the best armour, and runes.
Also, fallot states that you could've bought skills from the skill trainer in the guild hall, but you can't buy elites from there...Mistery or hoax.

I know theres no elites from trainers, but Im thinking hoax myself. The elite skills pushing it a bit too far, I think. Just the other skill couldve kept it going awhile. If it is true(dont see how really), its incredibly unusual. Im thinking if its true, they may have bought a cap sig from guild hall, then lured mobs to Ele Aziure, killing her, and capping it, or maybe just being near her you could cap, I dont know.

You only got the default set per class though, I'm pretty sure Ward Against Harm wasn't one of them.
If some people did buy Cap Sigs during that brief period when you could warp to GH, then it is remotely possible that it can be capped from a dead ally.

The only reason you can cap from the one centaur in Kodonur is because he has a boss aura for no apparent reason.
