NF Ascention ? UW / FoW

I understand where UW / FoW Gateway is in NF from Guildwiki. I am going to purchase FoW armor for my Dervish. I was wondering what preliminary requirments there is to enter into FoW/UW besides having the location to access the gateways.. Is there an ascention needed like in prophecies? I believe getting to chantry of secrets is the only requirement....

The quest "Hunted!" is the equivalent to Ascension in NF.

Im not so sure about that. I took a newly created Ranger to NF from factions, did all the quests to complete the sanctuary, and when I wanted to change my profession it told me that I had to complete an ascension quest first.

YOu always have to ascend in your "own" campaign. You can complete the whole factions, but if you started out in pre searing, you'll have to defeat the doppelganger before you can change your secondary.

I created a prophecy char a while back, and ascended him in factions only. I can now change my secondary in Senji's Corner without having ascended in prophecy.

this is completely wrong because i took my paragon from nightfall to prophecies and ascended and i go to fow or uw when i want. same with my assassin who has never done the naphui mission and he has no problem entering fow or uw

Goody. So how come my warrior from prophecies couldn't change his secondary profession at Senji's corner even though he was already Weh no Shui (obviously, since I couldn't have got to there without ascending first). Anyone have an explanation?

My paragon tried to go to FoW on reaching Sunspear Sanctuary and it would'nt let me. Did the above and I was suddenly allowed. This makes sense as 15K 'ascended' armor is also made available after that part if the quest.

This thing happened to me once after I beat unwaking water, After finishing the mission I had to go fast, and I wanted to skip the video, but I couldnt because there is always this one guy who wants to watch. So, I decided to close the window after mission cinematic starts. When I came home, and started GW again, I was at unwaking water, the town after the mission, but Kuvannag won't give me the next primary quest, so I had to end up going back redoing the mission, total BS. I think it might be possible that when you skip cinematic and close window, some "marker" did not process and that is as if you didn't finish the mission.

Not enough cash? You hadn't accepted the reward for the primary leading to Naphui? You talked to the wrong dude? He doesn't like you?

Well, honesty compells... Guilty as charged for disseminating misinformation.
I have checked again. I managed to get my Memer through Nahpui quarter, and can indeed confirm that he has become ascended for the purpose of secondary class switching, as evidenced by capturing several skills of different classes.
I don't know why I have not been able to do so the first time, or rather, why I REMEMBER not being able to do so the first time. Maybe I was just stupid - my warrior lugged an unwanted secondary Elementalist with him for a looong time...
