I've come up with a nice variant for monks.
This build runs at 105 HP by using 5 superior runes.

Summary:
I've tested this in Marga coast and it farms the bugs and a number of the bosses very well see 130 HP Boss Farming Dervish for a list as this is basically just a variant of that build.
I use 2 hats for runs with this, one for divine favor to get it up to 13 to give 32% extra length on monk enchants (for a little more lea way with Shield of Absorption (SoA)) and another for protection. Cast the two maintained enchants at the start with your divine hat on (Blessed Aura and Balthazar's Spirit), then swap to the protection hat for the 7 second duration of SoA.
Head out and when approaching the mobs fire up Protective Spirit (PS) and SoA and use mystic regen (MR) if you get affected by degen. MR pwns healing breeze as you can get a nice +8 health regen with only 3 points in earth prayers.
Make sure you take out the healing Queens first preferably with the melee mobs behind you so you can freely spam your attacks until they die.
This would also work fine on tusked howlers and probably a lot of other places too.
For my weapon I use the trusty Icy Soulbreaker of Enchanting (Nightfall pre-order freebie) for the max damage and 20% to enchanting.
Scythe wielding is a lot of fun

Notes & Concerns: This build is of course killed by enchant removal and being melee based it is annoying to get hit with slow down. It is also not that resilient versus interrupts unless you time things well, but miss your SoA or PS cast and you are toast...
