Buying Humps! (No kidding! Check my buy thread)

Hello Kitty Krewe [HKK] Forever!-ish

Background

When NF came out, res shrines and collectors appeared on the mission map ('U' map) for the zone you're in if you've already uncovered that area once upon a time. This is a great addition, ty ANet!

If you move the mouse over a collector marker on the 'U' map, it tells you what that collector collects, like "Silver Bullion Coins" or "Charr Carvings." Again, great! Ty ANet! If you mouse over a res shrine, it just says "Resurrection Shrine." It's nice for keeping track of where the team will wake up after a wipe, but not nearly as helpful as it could be.

Suggestion

For res shrines that have an NPC with a hunt/blessing for Sunspear or LB points, please add mouse-hover text saying what the hunt is about killing (demons, insects, kournan military, etc.) and maybe also if the reward is Sunspear or LB points. If that's too much, then just add what the hunt is about killing. It doesn't take much experience to figure out that killing bugs will only ever net you Sunspear points while killing Margonites will only ever net you LB points. Res shrines w/out an NPC can still just say Res shrine.

I think it's perfectly fine to leave the markers as requiring unlock to display. A character that's never been to a zone wouldn't have all these marks at first, just like they wouldn't have the map unfogged.

I love to explore the maps, meet all the wildlife, and kill it (at least on my first character through.) I think I hit the Sunspear rank where I can no longer get Sunspear blessings before I'd left Kourna. Starting in Kourna and continuing through the Desolation, some shrines have (what I can only assume are) Sunspear hunts and some have LB blessings. Those LB points are extremely useful, and I don't want to miss any points I could've gotten easily when I head out on a quest. And I've noticed that blessings/hunts for a particular kind of critter aren't necessarily always on the shrines closest to said nearby critters.

Making it visible on the map upon first reentering the zone would be most helpful IMO. The information would be handy for route planning.

I first thought of making screenshots of every zones map and adding the information for my own reference, but it would be a far more elegant solution if ANet added it to the U map already in the game.

My apologies if this has already been suggested. I looked and tried to search, but didn't see it.

Cheers & Thanks!

I was actually surprised that this wasn't already in place when I noticed res shrines popped up. Definitely think this should be added, don't know why it hasn't already. Just a common sense thing here.

Good idea! I agree that they should add the hunt descriptions to the rez shrine icons. And yes, the collector description is super handy, I love it

I feel kinda sleazy bumping my own suggestion post. But are there really so few people that would find this a helpful change?

And even if so, I don't see any disagreement. Could it be added to the index, please? (I'd imagine the devs have an easier time keeping up with the index rather than the entire forum. I could be wrong.)

Thanks,
Luny

/signed, I've often thought how useful it would be to be able to highlight a res shrine and see the nearest NPC's blessing/bounty.
