Has there ever been a canon for character height ranges?

What I mean is, is there any official information on what character class height ranges are?

I did a search but couldn't find much info, and I understand sometimes Dev's posts GWguru, so would be interested to know if this information is out there; however, if it's not, would it be possible to get this information from the Dev's?

I know it seems like a minor thing, but I like consistancy between my characters, and my warriors always end up looking like giants compared to my monks.

I do believe thats what those lines are on the far right side of your screen when choosing a character. It looks almost like a ruler. There are two lines showing between what heights your character can be, so I would assume that if you compared all the lines and such, you could figure this out.

I also have a question regarding height which I may as well post here:

People like making really small monks in PvP. Does this actually have any in-game advantage, making them harder to hit etc? or do people just think that? or make small characters for another reason?

I hate the character creation size ruler. The slider frequently starts at different levels from character-to-be to other character-to-be. Sometimes if you hit the forward and back buttons during character creation the slider will change it's position entirely. It's really a pain to try and keep a consistent size, as well as compare the size of your new character-to-be against a height you're used to. I have to make the character and then check the height of it in my character selection screen against the heights of all my existing characters. There should be numbers on the slider bar or something likewise that stay consistent with various profession character sizes so we can have some sort of instant measuring stick.

ANet should probably fix the size ruler so the slider ALWAYS starts in the middle when you make a new character and doesn't move around on you when you switch screens->return. That is the most annoying thing about character creation IMO.

most players use C, Tab, or [] keys to toggle targets....so.....
unless they click everything on screen with mouse, then no.

Ah, no I mean for example a ranger shooting at them with a bow, or people trying to wand them etc. Does it make them harder to hit when they are kiting if they are small?

Yeah, and does that mean that being short means you'll be hit in the head more often, meaning no armor bonus?

pretty fair question, I guess, that less size and geometry affects collision boxes in some way

I doubt size has anything to do with ingame effects.

I however make all my chracters the smallest size possible. I'm not a large person in real life, I like my characters to reflect that.

I made my monk small because I wanted her to be tiny. She's so tiny and cute.

I make short characters cause im short. I pick the shortest possible.

Some professions are naturally taller.

That being said, heres my girls so you can compare sizes of different professions:

One would wonder why keeping characters the same size would be that important... they can't share armor... but everyone has their little quirks that make us all unique.

Hitboxes rarely correlate directly to models/sprites. I find it unlikely that in a game so concerned with separating aesthetics from game mechanics, that any aspect of your character's appearance would affect your hitbox. Most likely, every character's hitbox is exactly the same size and shape.

My monk is small because it's cuter <3

Yup, smaller monks are much cuter.

And it has absolutely no relevance to hitboxes. The hitboxes are just cuboids.

Oh Noes! The 'burbs!

I make mine as tall as possible. Now. When I started out, I didn't care, so the necro, ele, and monk are medium sized. All the rest are tall.

Yeah I know it's kind of anal retentive. But I got my monk at almost a perfect height for my liking, and I have to mess around with making pvp characters to get the right height. It would be much easier if we were given height ranges, or actully height on the character height meter.

If you ever actually look at the meter, all characters have the some top to bottom range, but the placement of their feet is different. Warrior's feet(on my laptop using 1280x800) start underneath the screen barely, and Monk feet start about 3/4" above the screen.

My Dervish is a bit off from the tallest a male Dervish can be.. no real reason just to be a little different. I mean no one is the exact same height in real life.

Well I like to make all my characters short. it's something I starting doing in a MMO I was playing before Guild Wars. The idea is that it's so much more fun when some little guy is kicking everyone's a**.

Also, I wish I could make my character's the height of this red line.

(I didn't photoshop that)
