How do i get to play nightfall

Am i suposed to beat factions to play nightfall?

no and i didn't purchase factions either i just had it when it was released on my proph acc.

Each of the chapters is a separate purchase from ANet.

You have to have purchased it, the only possibility is that you have a trial code for Factions.

Oh. Well, to answer your question, no, you dont play Nightfall just by beating Factions. Nightfall, as well as Factions, is a whole new game, an expansion. Heard Nightfall is going for half price at Gamestop, you should probably look into it.
