...well, sorta.
Ever since installing NF I've been dealing with an increasing number of technical issues...random rebooting of the comp which "is caused by an unknown device driver", according to Microsoft's online crash analysis, for example. Also I would start GW up and get an error message calling itself "runtime error", and saying something about "pure virtual function" (though when I click "OK" this goes away). Most aggravating is the game simply freezing up, causing me to have to manually reboot the comp.
I got in touch with NCSoft's support folks, and they've advised me to update my video drivers. Provided the link, advice, all that stuff. I've gone over all the info they've provided, and I guess I'm good to go...except, I've never tried this before.
I'm sure many of you have done this, probably multiple times, so basically what I'm asking is if there's anything else I need to know. The instructions on the Nvidia site are clear enough...just be careful not to uninstall my chipset drivers and so forth. I'm probably making a mountain out of a molehill here, but I like to be certain before I start...just like I prefer to have clear directions when I go driving in an unfamiliar area. And I know I can count on folks at Guru to give sound advice.
My thanks,
Tanith

Thank you for the link, Gorebrex. I found some helpful info there.
Well, to update...a guildmate walked me through the process of uninstalling the old drivers and installing new ones. We had an alarming moment when we forgot to add audio drivers, but he quickly found and corrected that. So after several reboots, I tried playing and went for two hours straight with no trouble...apart from a bit of lag in the Canthan and Elonian areas, which I don't consider unusual. No incomprehensible messages about "runtime errors" and best of all, no crashes. My fingers are crossed that the problem is fixed.
Thanks again, all.
