According to wiki loot is distributed sequentially. So if you took a farm party of you and 7 npc's can you just wait till you get a drop on the way to the boss then start counting 8's and only kill the boss at the right point guarenteeing you its drops?.
It sounds wrong to me as theres all these solo boss farmer builds which would not be necessary if this worked. As long as you bring mainly single target skills on your npc's it would be easy to kill the trash around the boss untill the cycle came to you then killing the boss.
Drop Sequence

There is no sequence I beg to differ. In a party of 8 i have gotten drops 3-5x in a row. And by IN A ROW I mean 1-2-3 monsters killed in sequence and I got 1-2-3 drops. Me and my guidies have discussed this at length. We LOL at Anets idea of "random monster drops"
Taken from Wiki
"To eliminate bickering or "stealing" another party member's "kill", the game engine assigns "loot turns" to each player as a means of equally distributing loot among all the party members. When an item is dropped, the game automatically assigns it to a specific member of the party, and for a period of time, only that player can pick it up. The next item dropped is assigned to the next member of the party, and so on."
Its bogus and an outright misconception if you ask me. As it can be PROVED inaccurate someone should fix that on Wiki's site.

How about you?

I highly doubt Wiki says that and if it does it is blatently incorrect. The OP should cite specifically where he got that info so if it is on wiki it can be corrected.

"Random" can mean that one person gets several drops in a row or doesn't get any for quite a while. There is no sequence or pattern to it, thus it is random.

I find that when I am in a group we all get roughly the same amount of drops, but that they are not sequential. I might not get any drops until halfway through the mission/whatever area we are clearing, and then I get all of them for a short period of time.
One thing I have noticed though, which may just be completely random, is that I always get most of the rune and dye drops. My other guildie gets most of the scrolls and gold weapons. My OTHER other guildie gets the greens (always.) This seems to happen no matter which continent we are on or area we are in. But it's probably just coincidence.

Although i cant tell weither drops are truely randomised or since, i have noticed that if u are the person who gets the final killing hit on a enemy u have an increased chance of a drop for u. But then again that could be just random and just appears to be that way to me over the numerous occasions where i have noted it.
