Guild Wars Movie
Horseman Of War
Id pay $7 to see a GuildWars movie...
they could easily crunch Factions down to a 3 hour movie. Go watch it, and maybe they will give us a Nightfall trilogy: movie1, ending at the sunspear sanctuary/freeing Koss; movie 2, ending with the unbinding of Palawa Joko/Wurms, probably with Koss & Melonni's drama to counter the Margrid and Master of Whispers action; movie 3 starts with their thought-to-be final assault on Varesh for an hour and then 2 hours of Torment leaving DoA out of the picture for the sake of closure to the story.
just a thought.

make a movie for what plot?
honestly, there does not need to be a crappier version of Lord of the Rings.....

Now i will never look at Mhenlo the same way again.
Anyways there has been worse off moive made ie D&D so i dont see how GW will do worse (pls dont quote me on this lol) But a novel will definetly be the way to go and a natural progression.

I don't know about a movie, but a TV series could work. The plot is melodramatic enough. The show could be sort of like Dawson's Creek with swords, magic, and undeads.

How come an off-topic thread like this get so long without being moved?

If a movie was made, it would probably be funny.. especially if the acting in it was the equivalent of the voice acting of Shiro and Danika (Cringeworthy, but bloody funny)..
Either that or Vin Diesel shouting "Looking for runner to droknars forge!"

At least Resident Evil hit above expectations, and the new Castlevania movie coming in 2007 might be interesting.
Anyways, I would hate for Guild Wars downfall to be because of a bad movie. I'm not saying the movie would be bad, but the video game genre just hasn't exactly done well when crossing over to the big screen. I much rather see Guild Wars's downfall be due to (drum roll please) --------> Guild Wars 2

Depending on how much was spent on it, a movie, could be a crapfest or it could be good. Either either way, I'd still watch it and so would you if you are a fan.
The problem with a movie, however, is that even the BEST movies generate less revenue than a semi-decent video game and the resources are totally different.
To do it right, it would have to be a production done by a BIG movie studio (Lucasfilm would be a good choice) with experience in this sort of thing and they would pay NCSOFT for the rights. The folks at ANETwould be involved as story and content experts and leave the technical stuff to the studio.
