I know you can only get them from the Imps in Mineral Springs and I've tried about 5 runs with none dropping yet. Plus a guildy has done about the same and he's not seen one either. How rare are they to get? More rare than Ecto drops? About the same? More like Shards? Anyone any idea?

I used to farm the ids and I found the drop rate similar to the rate for ecto in the underworld. Once I got two in the same in run but other times I had to run over and over to get a drop.
I haven't done it for a long time though but I assume things won't have changed much...

Thanks for that. From experiance I know Ectos are hard to get and so are these so I had a feeling the rates were similar. Just have to keep trying

When i played GW for the 1st time i used to get a few of them (using henchmen)... but i sold them to the merchant because i was a newbie (i thought it was a bad sword because it didnt had a healthbonus and i didnt knew that these weapons could be upgraded) 
2 months ago a mate of me tried to solo those imps... he got 1 IDS in apx 25-30 attempts (imo that hitrate is more rare than ecto's, at least for me).

I guess it could be more rare now I come to think about it - considering the amount of imps available to kill and the low rate of drops...

They used to drop a dime a dozen before.... but that when they first came out. I stopped farming for them once I didn't get bugger all after the 15th run solo... nerfed to the zero probability in my books.

The drop rates for the IDS are still very low. You're likely to get one after 3+ runs, but then again, you might get very lucky and get 1 or even 2 in your first run.

its near immposible to solo them now, but when i used to i got one my first try then after about another 20 runs of getting nothing i gave up.

My son and I went out a couple months ago and got one in a single attempt. We were down to the last few imps before one dropped though.

Ooh, long way to go before I can start complaining then. Done a couple more runs today with nothing to show but I'll keep at it. Cheers. I'll post a pic of me dancing on the corpse of the Imp that drops it if I ever get one.

ya did a few runs last week and gotten 1. used the flag hero far away trick. Going to wait for an AI update before i start to solo them again.
my thought on the drop rate of an IDS..... it's just as random as a green from a boss.
[from the past] I do remember after factions was out and after completeing it and getting 15k armor i stopped buy and did an IDS run. Got it on my first run and then another a week later. [present]tried it again after beating NF and got it on a second run and then to chest run from for one of them Ele swords =p
