when nightfall came out, i created a ranger and beat it within a week. after a few more weeks i got the protector of elona title and started to pvp more often again. i was testing out some of the new assassin skills and to see how they stood up against all the new builds. i was having a good time so i decided to make a pve assassin. i remember back in may-june everyone absolutley hated having assassins in their groups. well, i got through factions even though it was basically deserted and decided to take him over to nightfall, mainly to cap shadow prison. to my amazement, i found groups extremley easily. i went there expecting to spend hours just finding groups like i used to on my old assassin, which i eventually deleted because i thought they sucked. since then i learned how to use an assassin properly and found out their power. has the assassin gained more respect since the release of nightfall?
no more assassin hate

QFT. If I want to get something done, I don't bother with PuGs. Henches are better almost all the time. If I don't care, and I wanna screw around, I'll take whoever, just like I always have.

the point of the game is to play with other people, not that im saying your wrong in doing that. i play with henches/heroes when im doing quests but always try to get a group of people when i do missions.

All that early hate was probably justified. Luckily, there aren't a great many people who *really* suck at the 'sin and keep playing it. I think everyone feels that the 'sin playing pool has cleaned itself up over the last seven months.
As for the all-hench trend.. Well.. They 'are' excellent interrupters (and MM's, and monks), but just speaking for myself, I get invited to groups quickly enough, and would never even consider henching my own way through..

Several reasons Assassins are being accepted in Nightfall more readily imo...
1. The class has had time to settle. People have a feel for it's style, it's pros, it's cons. Early Factions had people discovering their limits. (Read: Wammos have stopped raping the class)
2. The players who are assassins now are the people who like the class. They've bothered to learn the style, practice and basically, they're good.
3. No Afflicted Soul Explosion. Because let's face it, -40 to anything up to -200 damage everytime you killed something was *such* a fu... pain. So no more 'fragile' assassins dying all the time.
4. More new people-lots of nightfall only players, never seen an assassin, so giving 'sins the benefit of the doubt and having them along.

Still, when I was playing as my assassin, looking for a group in a mission town(I think it's Kodonur Crossroads)
I came across with about 4-5 groups that was looking for more, they didn't state clearly what they're looking for so I just add myself, all I got was an instant reject.
I'm really pissed at that moment.

Except monk. Sometimes I do that as a smiter just to annoy people. Petty I know, but it's fun having them bitch when they didn't ask me if I could change to healing or protection.
But no, assassins are still discriminated against, because people like cookie-cutter builds and don't like different things. You should hear the howls of 'n00b' when I set my ranger up for melee.

I disaggree, Assassins are both for PvP and PvE, I only play PvP when I get bored with PvE, and my assassin does just as well in either place. The only reason that Assassins seem better for PvP is that it has a more confined area and spacific targets, PvE is mostly just kill kill kill, if there is a monk, Ele, or Mes, kill them first if not, doesn't matter much. But they aren't Less effective in PvE or Built just for PvP. They are still like any other class, they have a good role to play and do it well depending on the player, in both PvE and PvP.
Man I used to be one of those guys that said "no sins" when forming a group, But yesterday I changed my mind. I was doing 1 on 1 and 2 on 2 PvP with my guildies and many people came one of which was an assassin...I got "stuck" with her and thought great were gonna loose...But then bam with my blood spike and her quick dmg we killed...no...slaughtered any opposong team. So after I saw the potential of what an assassin can do I started one...And at lvl 6 almost killed a lvl 20 ranger in my guild.

i made new one. First of all for 10k ancient armor and secondly because they are strong in NF.
