just a brain storm...
one strange way they could do it (in association to cutting the cost and induce additional grind), is that for each level you gain, you will get 10% off the cost of the skill. So if you are 20+2 level, you would get 20% off.. and so on. But once you buy a skill, it would take off that 10%. So when you are lv25, the next skill yo buy will be 500g, but the next next you buy will be back to 600g... and so on....
well.. just a fun idea...

What makes doing quests "worth it" after level 20, to me, is the skill quests, for one, helping lower level people on missions, getting any missed bonuses, ect. I try to do mission and bonus in same run, or go back for it after doing mission, unless group needs me. You also get to try different builds in missions youve done, seeing how much easier/harder it is, learning whats best for the situation. At least, thats what I enjoy about it.

It's a Time Spent vs Reward system that makes sense.
If you spend a lot of time on your character, you are in turn, able to do more things.
Gaining levels is too easy as it is, which goes hand-in-hand with gaining skill points.
If you can farm something, you can use scrolls. When you use scrolls, you gain exp at a much, much higher rate than without. Thus giving you an easy way to gain skill points, and under your system, some weird reward for farming.
I see where you're coming from. To you, gaining a level and skill point isn't enough because of the time you put into it.
You have to look at the other side, though. If you reward people with ANYTHING other than skill points, it will be abused by farmers. Currently, there's no real benefit to farming for skill points other than the fact you can spend money on new skills. It's not like you're getting free items / money for leveling up again.

Hows about if you hit certain "virtual levels" you gain some rewards. Maybe NCSoft will be nice enough to give you an extra character slot after level 100000. Maybe hint at something you should be doing, like, trying to play another type of character :P
But people level too fast for Per-Level reward. I think a "milestone" system would be much more effective, even if its just giving certain titles after level 50, 100, 250, 500, ect.
Perhaps like:
Experienced - lvl 50
Veteran - lvl 100
Master - lvl 250
Grand Master - lvl 500
No Life King - lvl 1,000 (Helcaraxe)

It was mentioned to Gaile that there should be a title for XP, and she seemed to like the idea. However as it's been stated, any reward over a title would be most gotten by farmers. My Ritualist quickly climbed through the XP and skill point ranks to have as much XP as characters that are a year older than that character, just by killing in the Arborstone explorable ad infinitum (and ad nauseum).
