Is their a Primary/secondary that can do the following:

PvE - Providing a good experience with hencing and grouping with other players.
PvE - Are needed by groups, without being a W/MO which obviously makes up 50% of the player base in the PvE world.
PvE - Solo Farming or Duo Farming

PvP - With minor adjustments to secondary can they compete and useful for a HA or GVG battle?

Thanks in advance for all your opinions.

1) Varies by individual, what do you enjoy?
2) Monk
3) Monk
4) Monk

You have to enjoy that role of monk, supporting the team rather than killing things. If not, play something else.

I personally never worry about that kinda crap, play what you enjoy playing. It is your game and other than working into team PvP builds or perhaps specialized team farming builds it really doesn't matter. There's always heroes and henchies.

The Necro/Monk and Necro/Mesmer fulfill all of four of those.

The N/Mo Minion Master covers the first two, and there are a few other "wanted" necro builds for groups in certain areas that don't use minions, so it's a flexible primary. There are several options for solo farming builds, with a couple of builds designed specifically for duo farming with a monk, and a minion army is great for general solo play or smaller groups. By switching the secondary to Mesmer, one can be a very powerful asset in PvP with degen, conditions, hexes, interupts, energy support, corpse management, minions, etc. It's a fun primary to play as well.
