Okay, as you can see this build is based on Tainted flesh and necrotic traversal for not only damage but damage reduction. Tainted flesh will disease all melee creatures that attack you and necrotic traveral will poison them (consume corpse is for health and energy gain).
Also maintaining 3+ enchantments at all time gives you 85 AL and with conviction on you have 99 AL. Also since tainted flesh gives a condition out to all your attackers, all of there attack damages are reduced by 20! Because of this the melee attackers usually only do 0 dmg and if they do any more it's only around 4-5 dmg! With mystic regenaration and vital boon you are easily healed and kept at full health if any dmg does go above zero.
Also this build is actually quite energy efficient and I never found myself in need of energy
