I expect this to be semi-controversal between overpowered and upgarding the current Heros so please feel free to speak...err...freely.

Anyways, onto the suggestion. When i set my skillbars i have a certain state of use in mind. EX:Healing breeze covering Protective Spirit on 55's.
Now i know i can click my heros skills and they will cast that exact skill next. But in the middle of a group of enemeis and a boss it's a little hard to focus on my skills, the enemies skills, and telling my hero what to do at the same time.

I propose a priority skill option up to 3. This would tell your hero to cast skill 1, before skill 2, and that before skill 3. But not affecting your heros AI to cast other skills.

This would also greatly help the assassin hero.

Highest priority skill on a hero: slot 1
Lowest priority skill on a hero: slot 8

Just put the skill you want them to use the most in slot one, and work to the left.

Also, heroes are incapable of 55hp'ing because they one reaply an enchantment if it has expired on them. So if you want a 55 hero, you have to take full control of their skill bar.

Is that really how it works, or your suggestion? I had not read or seen that anywhere, but it's great to know, if it's the way it currently works.

1 tip for ur MM hero fleshgolem in slot 8 on manual, else it keep making them even when the old aint dead yet, BoM is used quite to less even when in slot 1 so it doesnt look like skill slot is priority level. ranger and monk heros work perfect on the other hand. (at least on my setuP)

The skill order would make sense, but it doesn't seem to be true in my own observations. I placed a hex removal in Tahlkora's first slot and she always seemed to heal Koss instead of healing me or removing the hexes on me. I've also seen a hero waste an enchantment on himself to get extra energy instead of rezzing. He had a +4 Energy while Enchanted mod and he would Healing Breeze himself every time it wore off even though Healing Breeze was 6th and his rez was 1st on his skillbar. And it wasn't even a big enough energy boost to be a gain. He was still losing energy.

I think the OP was saying that once the hero uses skill 1 it has to use skill 2 and then skill 3. Puting a skill in block 1 just prioritises it the hero will not nesesarily use the skill in block 2 directly arfter it.

Let us flag it. A priority 1 flag will let make the hero cast it as soon as possible, priority 2 would be often, 3 would be default.

I'm quite certain that hero skill priority is already set up as I said.

The reason it may seem otherwise, it that it seems that heroes also have a priority as to what type of skill they prefer.

ex. I have Blessed Light on my Dunkoro, placed in his 6th slot. However, he uses it whenever a person has a hex or condition on them. Now I also have Blessed Signet in his 4th slot, however, he hardly ever touches it.

As well, heroes can use certain spells better than others. It seems that heroes are very good with Blessed light, because they can use it to heal, remove conditions, and/or remove a hex.

I'd rather ANet allows macros to be done or some form of scripting a player could load straight from the side of the client. One issue with the prioritization or macro is that it will allow heroes to work better; I'm not sure if ANet is for the idea of making heroes even more user-friendly and encouraged over PUGs. I think the issue of PUGing (being possibly affected by the use of heroes) these days may ultimately affect whether ANet would want to open up such avenues for us.

Personally, I like the idea.

No. That may be a factor but there are other "mysterious" factors involved. I tried a Blessed light build on my monk but he uses BL in the 3 spot nearly all the time instead of using Gift of Health in the 2 slot. really puts a hurt on his energy.

"The order in which skills are placed in the hero's skill bar can greatly affect the Hero's effectiveness. The hero AI prioritizes the left-most skills in their skill bar, so you should put your hero's strongest skills on the first skill slot. For example, for a Monk Hero, put Healing Light to the far left and support skills like Orison of Healing further to the right, to improve the hero's energy management and healing potential."

There you go!

I cant say ive noticed it working 100% because obviously you have to consider energy levels, and what the Hero can and cant use at one isntance.
