Foundry Breakout / Mallyx Quest Idea

One of my last partys failed the Breakout quest and right before I left with the majority of the group those of us who stayed to chat noticed that Failing the quest caused the Black Beast of Arrgh to spawn.

This seemed quite odd. Unfortunatly since so many in our party left we couldnt kill the black beast but a thought occured to me.

Can failing the breakout quest still make it possible to kill the fury?

If so then that would make things much easier. The breakout quest only awards 10k exp and everyone is there for finishing up the Mallyx quest anyhow so why not just fail that quest right from the start?

So has anyone actually failed the breakout quest then went on to kill the Fury? I've got this feeling that you can still kill The Fury afterwards. If not, I don't see why they would have bothered making the black beast spawn after the quest fails.

Good thought. But I am not sure how many people will actually wanna risk their game. I did founadry few days ago and it took us 5- 6 hours.
However if it works it would be nice.

Honestly, It really wouldn't take that long. If you use the skip trick you'll only need to clear room 4 then from there just clear some of the other area in between where the black beast and fury are. If you can do that Foundry would probably be the easiest of the 4 areas.

City takes 1.5 hours with a competent groups. Plus, I recall in my first failure that the Black Beast did not show up when we failed the quest.

I can confirm that failing the quest without reaching the 3rd NPC will cause argh to NOT spawn. You MUST at least be on the third NPC before failing. So, it's quite pointless then to save the first two and not the last. However it is handy to know just in case you fail the quest on the third guy not to leave.
