So, I just rebuilt a new computer, or rather my Friend built it for us, and I am having a whopping hard time with it. I have a:
NVIDIA GeForce 6200
AMD Duron Processor 1.10 GHz 768 MB RAM
I just installed my copy of Guild Wars Prophecies, then my copy of Factions. When I go to start it up, this is what it looks like, except its not static, the colors keep shifting and changing-
I cant find anything online about this kind of problem. this is like I said, right when I start up my game. I cant even see the log in screen, or anything. The only possible explaination I can seem to find is that since I am running
Windows XP Professional
instead of Home Edition, that this may cause it. I say this because I read somewhere that *I think* Guild Wars doesnt support Professional edition. The only problem is that I tried installing a different game, Max Payne 2, and had the same troubles, just less graphical errors than whats in the screen I posted. Anyone know what I can possibly do? any insight would be greatly appreciated!!
- Thanks!

Also Gw kinda upped the specs, and I had probs with it and had to tweak (adjust fan settings) my card (ati x1600Pro) to play properly. But if you have it on MP2...prolly kaputt gfx card.

Are you sure your CPU is fast enough?

Video artificating like that is typically caused by an underpowered vid card, an over heating vid card, or a dead vid card.
Make sure your vid card is seated properly, that the fan for the GPU is spinning, and that if it needs power from the power supply it is hooked up.
If all that is OK, you can try uninstalling/reinstalling the video drivers, but I wouldn't hold my breath that the latest video drivers are going to fix it.

ok i see two blazing problems there. One is your processor. XP professional is a hog and despite what the specs say you really need something closer to a 3GHz processor to run XP Professional with GW.
XP Professional 64bit is not supported by GW. Make sure you dont ahve that version

Also..some GeForce cards have issues
