well i dont feel like reinstalling and wait all day long to download
all the updates >.> so if somebody finds a solution

Anywho...it could be a number of things. Have you had this problem before or anytime in the past or is this a first?
What kind of system and connection are you running? Are you running things behind a firewall? Are you getting any specific messages/errors when you try to connect? If so...what are you getting?
More information may be helpful than just "can't connect"

Why not try and see if all the answers are correct first though and re-install it. Just make a copy of GW.dat first, that way you won't have to re-download everything.

never had this problem before, i did repair installation but it still doesnt work.
i got Windows XP home (SP2), 768MB RAM, ATI 9550(256mb) and 1.83Ghz

well, obviously its not a connectivity problem in windows otherwise you'd be unable to post here. I'd suggest checking your windows firewall settings and or antivirus/adware...

I had a similar problem & found out that, although my firewall said that GW was accepted it wouldnt let it through. (only found out when I ran GW in window mode). After uninstalling & then Reinstalling the firewall all went fine.
Try using Zone Alarm (it is free & very good) instead of Windows firewall
