Chapter 4 Idea: Oni
Dean Harper
So, ive been thinking about the upcoming chapter 4 taht we dont know anything about, and i was wondering, since teh Oni in Cantha had no real role, but are sort of mysterious in that they pop up out of thin air. I think they come from some dark realm, but maybe the next chapter will be based on an Oni takover of a new continent, a few years after NF. I was thinking Archipalego kind of setting, with ships to travel around(but NO ship to ship battles!!!!) Either that, or they would have some sort of passage between them. I was also thinking an Australian theme. Please give your thoughts on this, i think the Oni thing would be awsome, either that, or they have a Charr takeover.

Sorry to tell you, but they do explain what the Oni are and why they pop out of mid air in Factions. Although they are cool and mysterious, they could not carry over into a new expansion because of the plotline already in the game explaining them. The oni's existance is explained in an elite mission. I won't go into details due to spoilers...
Queenie

But yea, Australian theme = Nightfall remake. Not much theme to it.

Autralians theme?
Would make a great opportunity to finally charm the Koala I was after :P Or maybe a nice kangaroo?
Anyways, I'd vote no for Australia, not because I don't like the continent, But it would feel to "Nightfally" for me
My hopes are on the Aztec culture ^^ (with new avatar forms for the Dervish? Quezacoatl FTW! )

One word:
Druids
I think GW should take a step back to the more relaxing wilderness and jungle atmosphere. Deep thick forrests and swamps with thick brush full of creatures.
"They were once beings so deeply connected to nature that they gave up their physical bodies and "transcended" to ethereal spirits at one with nature."
Thats what it says about the Druids. So ANET should expand on that. They are a sort of alien looking species in spirit form so what were they like in thier pre-ethereal form? Or did they look the same as they do as Nature Spirits? So maybe they have another alien race that they have some negative history with and also allies like the Ravagers. PvE players in the campaign will embark on a mission to set out and find the Druid in the Magguma and travel back to thier homeland or something to rid it of whatever drove them away in search of peace and tranquility. Anyways. Im sure someone else can put some thought into it and make it sound a bit cooler than I can at the moment.

Yea, they already did some Australian outback kinda theme going on in Nightfall... unless they wanna make an opera house.
But I have a hunch that the next chapter will focus on going *north* of Tyria (ie. the Shiverpeaks) where the snows are... or maybe underground? or outer-space?
Or perhaps it's further *west*... in the jungles suggesting an Aztec theme.
But who knows, eh? What other terrains there are that ANet haven't made?

Well despite these suggestions for the fourth campaign; it's already been in developement for atleast six months so they probably already decided what it's about by now.....

When the sea turned into Jade, a demon was trapped underwater, Kanaxai. Onis are an incarnation of this dude. So yes, it's definitely related to Cantha.

Wow! Yeah!
/signed for the bbq tongs on Aussie warriors!! (And can we please have a button to lock them on our beloved Aussie friends? Those guys are even more of a kick when they get mad!)
And TY Sir Mad - some of us are still locked out of the elite missions in Cantha, even when that's the only way to go see the stories about the Oni. Oni were my favorite thing in Cantha, and I really wanted to see more story about them. I was sad when someone told me they are explained but only in the elite missions. Grr @ Factions for locking PvE characters out of storyline like that ... and for all those silly merchants that won't talk to me.

I think Chapter four is going to be northish, because in the little book that came with Nightfall there's a date on the calender that says 'Cantha begins trading with Elona, Kryta and the northern regions' (or something like that)
For Ch5, I'd like to see Aztec or Mayan culture

i think that they should have a zombie type of gw, like Resident Evil or Dawn of the Dead!! but an aussie theme would be weird, since wed be fighting dingos...kangaroos...and apparently oni according to your idea which would seem a bit offkey
shifting shadows
no zombies
??Ripskin
I like the idea, but like explained earlier, the oni are already explained. And maybe somehow anet could put a new plot in, but they more then likely wont.
Ss Executioner
I say make a whole new game! Guildwars 2. Relate it back to the FIRST guildwars as it talks about in the lore years and years ago. be like fighting along side Rurik and people like that.

no aliens, no zombies, no guns, no bombs, no cars, no planes. If you want that, continue to play that game or better yet go play some Halo.

As for Oni... nah, they're not that interesting.
